Little late finding this. You can count me in on the signatures. tippi-Mildred Williams
It's a wonderful idea. Please count me in. I'm all for it and hope Ellen can help. I know what Shirlene and her husband are going through, and I feel for them.
Blessings,
Sukiray
My goodness - what a CUTE family you each are. You are dear little angels - wished I could actually give you all a big hug - even through my leaking eyes - I can't believe that you all would do this. Jerri had emailed me about this in the past and I actually did send a email into the Ellen Show - not that I knew what she would say or do - if she read it or not - but now - you all have put together another whole plan - what angels of merci you are. I have gotten so many prayers answered in the past year - because of each of the prayer warriers on this site. Even though - we keep having difficulites in our lives - we are still getting by - because each of you help in a small way to lift me up - whenever I get down.
I brought Rick home on Tuesday night late - about 8 PM - he has been resting inbetween all the times I have had to get him up and taken him to here or there - to get his blood drawn or pick up new meds - a few groceries and such. When we get home - he always heads for the restroom and then to lay down - he is so weak - I had to steady him when we were putting on his pants today. He never complains or asks for anything out of the ordenary - he is a great patient, actually. He said something about are you sure you still want me for a husband? I laughed and told him - of coarse - any way that he was - was fine with me - at least I still had him.
Thanks for all that you are trying to do - to help us. We know you each care for us - it shows in all your post - that is such a miracle - we are blessed and we just want you to know - we appreciate it more than mere words can even suggest.
Unconditional Love, Shirlene & Rick
It's so wonderful that you had a moment to share with us. We are all hoping for the best for both of you.
I can only hope and pray that this helps. How can Ellen not read it? Love to you both.
i hope that it will help them
and i will pray for this and for Shirlene and Rick
hugs Sonja
Wonderful idea! I will be Praying this will get them some help. Hugs, Judy
Awsome idea. It won't hurt to try. I admire in Charlene her calm and peace even when she is going thru very hard times. Blessings and always in my prayers, Yolandita
Great idea! I live in Canada too, and funny...I also thought of the lottery thing!
What a beautiful letter and great Idea! Thanks for thinking of it. I love the Ellen show she has helped a great no of people and Shirlene is an angel. I'll be happy to add my name to the list.
What a fantastic idea, I'm all for it....let's all pray they get the help they need from this....blessings Janet
This is a great idea and the letter is wonderful. I don't know how we can all sign it but if you find a way count me in. Arlene
So, I got the snail mail address for Ellen. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Telepictures Productions. 3000 West Alameda Avenue. Suite 2700. Burbank, CA 91523 Now, do we go snail mail or email? I see we need to add to the letter or change it because I didn't know Shirlene needed surgery too. I am going to start a post that will be for everyone to decide which way to go and a post just for names and where you live to act as signatures. Jerri, Twee, we will need one person's full name, address, phone number and email address, if you don't want that public then PM it to me. Ellen also does some where she sends a woman with a camera to the person's home. I have Shrilene's address but I do not know her personally and that will have to be added. I figure we need time for everyone to add their names and lost of them work outside the home so we can give it the weekend for everyone to get in on it. PM me if you want to be the contact.
I still think email is the way to go but since you found the snail mail address, how about both?

This is so amazing. CUTIES UNITE. I really hope we can get her some help. I am reading all the posts and my eyes are leaking with all the love for Shirlene. We are so amazing all of us cuties, Hugs and flowers to all. Lisa
What a GREAT idea. I don't watch the show, but if she can help take the pressure off Shirlene then I say go for it!
Some of you may not realise Shirlene also needs surgery but, (without her express permission) I cannot repeat what that surgery is. Suffice it to say, she REALLY, REALLY needs to have it before it causes irreparable (if not life threatening) damage to her body. Besides not being able to afford it, she can't spare the time away from caring for Rick. Then of course she also needs carpel tunnel surgery.
I truly don't know how they can cope with all the burdens being dumped on them lately, a lesser person would look for other ways out of all the problems.
I do hope you can get Ellen to do something for them.
Shirlene is the most warm and loving person she really could do with a change of fortune.
Hugs and love, Meganne
Talking with my sister just now and she suggests that we make a letter on the site and all cuties who wish to can add their signatures here. The staff of Ellen do not have time to read a thousand letters from us so the letter to her website could contain the link to the letter here.
REMEMBER that Ellen likes to have the persons on her show to receive the help she is giving so someone from this site has to be ready to go to her show along with Shirlene, or in her place, and that person should be 'jerrib' as this was her idea.
Ellen will definately ask about the cute site and machine embroidery so a sample of FSL, that Shirlene does should be with Jerrib.
Let us know if you do make the letter here to be signed.
EACH of us sending an email on the Ellen website is the best idea, so many received emails would definately get the attention, perhaps our signatures could begin with Cutie member then our names and countries.
If you want to add signatures, perhaps you can take out the sentence "It is www.cute..." and end the letter off by adding "From and a link to a new posting where everyone posts a little note maybe one liners about or to Shirlene. Just a suggestion. I think your letter is superb. You really are a great group of people.
from the netherlands, please let us know how we can help in this, Hugs G
May I suggest that instead of each of us signing a letter that EACH of us email a copy of the letter once the finally letter has been decided. It may also need to have a date.
YEs If we all email the show then surely the will read at least 1 of or letters and if they read them all maybe it will make a difference.
I think this is a fantastic idea. Let me know if I can do anything to help!

This would be a wonderful thing to do for such a giving person. Cute Embroidery has become a part of our lives for so many people. This was proved when we could not contact the site a few days ago
I will keep this checked so I can come back and sign it or whatever you want us to do. When is the deadline to send it in? When will it be finished so we know when to check back?
OK, since I haven't seen a letter started I started one, feel free to make changes or add onto it and lets see if we can get this going as soon as possible.
Dear Ellen,There is a website devoted to mostly machine embroidery, it is so large that we don't even know how many of us are on the site. It is www.CuteEmbroidery.com. Some of us have been with the site a short time, some a very long time and we all feel like a family. There is so much love and help from so many people there but we have one who has been an angel to us all and in dire need of help, her name is Shirlene Renshaw. Shirlene's mother was a member of this website almost from the beginning and gave Shirlene a love of embroidery also. This year has been especially hard on Shirlene, in Feb her dear mother, Loretta, passed away, shortly after that Shirlene's husband suffered a stroke. She has held it together and helped her husband as best as she can. Of course Rick lost his job and had not fully recovered, this week he suffered a seizure and was hospitalized and had a total of 6 seizures and a mini stroke before being released. Shirlene is by his side knowing he has a long road of more therapy ahead of him. She comes on the website when she can and gives us updates but never complains. She is Rick's rock. Her income is from a website www.loveoflace.com where she sells Free Standing Lace items that she has embroidered but business is very slow. Our group of "Cuties" is hoping that there is something you can do to help Shirlene because we know what a kind and giving person you are. This website has members from states all across the US plus members from many countries. We range from Canada, Australia, Germany, Iceland, Brazil, S. Africa and many more and all we are asking for is help for a "friend" most of us has never met but grown to love.
This is a wonderful letter. I see from bevintex that it needs to be 1500 characters or less. The body of the letter is 1337 characters without spaces, 1646 with spaces.
I'm not sure but I think we have to shorten it.
We could remove this section bringing it to 1582:
Some of us have been with the site a short time, some a very long time and
I've whittled it a little to 1531 characters. Some more help please Cuties.

This is a beautiful letter. Now if we can just figure out how to send it. I think Ellen will see that Shirlene has friends that want to help from all over the world.
Thank you all for your help and support in this. I was afraid to start this, but after this week, and seeing everyones responses, I am glad I did.
If you are all in agreement with the letter, and you know how to send it to Ellen please do. I pray that Ellen finds in in her heart to help.
Jerri (Jerrill)
Could we change from (we don't know how many of us are on the site)........we don't know how many members belong. saves a few characters.
How are we going to add our names as that would be huge.....
1485 characters
sending is easy, cut and paste to the web page. Who will send it?

The changes are great, I don't know if the signatures count or not cause that is really going to fill it up. It's easy enough to make the list of our names and localities and then copy and paste them all to the letter and email it. I am wondering how her email works, if it has too many letters it might kick it back out. Perhaps we could start a new post and everyone just put their names and locals on it and then if we can get her physical address for snail mail maybe a printed out one could be mailed.
Don't forget, that Shirlene's husband had his stroke, then the following week her mother passed. If my memory is correct. Why don't you say a world-wide website devoted to machine embroidery. AND We are a family. And I thought I read that Rick had a serious of seizures and a mini stroke.
You haven't mentioned that Shirlene herself needs surgery for a very serious problem and she also needs carpel tunnel surgery, both of which they cannot afford, time wise or money wise. Hugs n love, Meganne
Ok, I didn't know Shirlene needed surgery. This is going to add up, I think we need Ellen's snail mail address. Gonna see if I can find an address to mail it to.
What a brilliant idea Jerrill - I'll be in on it too.
I've known Shirlene since I've come on here and she and Rick are a very caring couple. I've never once heard her complain about things, she always has a very positive outlook and a great faith in our almighty God. And for someone just to make the effort of contacting Ellen would be awesome.
Thanks to Bev in Texas for the email address of Ellen Degeneres. If we could all get a copy of the letter and add our personal names and countries from where we come, well then all we'd have to do is email it to Ellen's email address.
Thanks so much Jerrill for getting this thing moving - it's just like "Pay it forward" .
Love and blessings Chris
Thank you, when my internet is working properly we will get started on this.
Not sure what to do, so will ask for everyones help.
Anything to help shirlene & Rick, this is a wonderful idea so please count me in. Sally
i have found where you can actually email Ellen. It needs to be 1500 characters or less. If someone can write this it would be great. I have a good feeling about this.you can even upload a photo.
Bev
This is what needs to be entered for the email. We can add a photo. Perhaps a photo of the signatures?
* First Name
* Last Name
* Email
* Home Phone
Cell Phone
Work Phone
* Street Address
Apt # (if applicable)
* City
State
* Country
* Zip/Postal Code
Station you watch me on
* Age
* If you are under the age of 18, your parent/guardian must fill this out with his/her info and then tell your story on your behalf.
Upload a digital photo
Web address of the photo
* Tell us your story (1500 characters limit)
Then there is a box for us to paste the letter in. It has to fit within the 1500 characters.
We need someone to be the contact person.
I agree a photo of our names, places etc would be really good. But how to organise in the short term. maybe we need a spokesperson and they if it all works out we could send along a list of all our names, places in the world that we come from etc.... perhaps we should start an (ask the community ) where we all put our names, places in the world we live....I don't know just a suggestion...we need to get this done quickly....I vote for Twee as she knows Shirlene personally. Hugs Sally
OK, we need someone who is good at letter writing and we need "twee" to fill in any info since she knows Shirlene personally. We need to list our names and states and countries so Ellen can see Shirlene is so loved by people who have never met her but she has touched our lives. The idea Terre gave of us all sending an email to whoever does the full letter titled Help Shirlene to add as an attachment to the end of the letter as our "signatures" is great. Ellen needs to know that Shirlene never complains about anything and that she is trying to get by selling from her "Love of Lace" website, add that to it so Ellen can look it over, but that business is terribly slow. Any other ideas?
I will be more than happy to sign a letter. I agree they certainly are deserving of help. Thank you for coming up with this idea. Hugs, Mary
I think that is an excellent idea. I know Shirlene personnaly, but I don't know the ins and outs of the Ellen Degeneres think.
Ellen is a very giving and caring woman, I really think this is a good idea and your input as knowing Shirlene personally would help if you can add anything there.
Thank you twee. As I said I will need all the help I can in composing the letter. I am not a computer geek so will need help with this also. Or if someone is good at this I don't mind them taking it over. I just want us to try and see what we can all do. I will send you a Private message with my e-mail address, if I can figure it out.
Well I'll try this again. My other post wouldn't take. Got an error when I tried to submit.
Jerrill I think this is a wonderful Idea, and I can't think of anyone more deserving that Rick and Shirlene. I don't know the whole story except what she has posted here and no one should have to suffer as much as they. But with saying that, there are many out there who are going through the same thing, the difference it that Shirlene stays so positive and has a very strong faith which helps her each day. She has a mighty God who can do the impossible. We don't understand why things happen but we know He does. God uses many people to perform His miracles. Maybe this is one of the ways. I don't agree with Ellen's lifestyle, but she is a kind hearted person and very funny. She will put a smile on your face.:) Just let us know how and when... Not sure if this is a good suggestion or not, but what if someone types the letter then everyone send an e-mail titled, "Help Shirlene" so you would know it is our signature. then you could attach it to the petition letter and mail it into her staff, or get the e-mail and send it that way. She might be overwhelmed by the responses and that would pique her curiosity or interest. Maybe? I'm in...
Oh, the idea of us all sending an email with our names and states and countries would work well as attachments to the letter.
This is a wonderful idea, can't compose the letter as I'm not gifted with words but will be more than happy to sign. I also buy lottery tickets in hopes of being able to help Shirlene and many others.
Maybe a letter could be created which we could all print out and sign and then mail them all back to you and this signature line should include our country. You could then bundle them up and send to Ellen. I don't know how we would all sign one letter, do you?
You never know what will happen until you try. Doing nothing will not help so anything is worth a try!
You can count on me! Sounds like an awesome idea and would be honored to help in anyway I can.
Carol
Count me in............ but what does this lady Ellen do? I live in Iceland so I think that I never have seen Ellen in Tv.
Sigrun, she is a talk show host who interviews celebrities and brings common people to her show and helps them with whatever their difficulty is. Whether it is medical, financial, or personal. I don't agree with her lifestyle, but she has a good heart and is very very funny.
Count me in! I keep wishing I could help them too and Ellen is a wonderful idea, she is so caring of people and I think this just may be the best idea I have heard all year! Let me know what I can do to help. Maybe we could all write some sort of letter and PM it to you and then you could work it together for the best way to word it. debnovak@yahoo.com
That's agreat idea! I too live in Canada. I don't know Shirlene & Rick as I'm fairly new to this group But ,Any help that one or a group of people can do to help out someone esle in hard times is great ! Count me in.
Count me in. I enjoy the designs and Shirlene is always willing to give advice no matter how dumb the question was. Stella
Count me in; I too love Shirlene and Rick. One other way to help is to get on Shirlene's website and order lots of FSL designs. She mails them to you, and they are lovely. Since my own FSL designs are not as well done as Shirlenes, that way I can have angels (or whatever) to give to friends when I want. The angels are nice to give in time of sorrow, illness, special occasion or just to let someone know that you're thinking of them. If you call or e-mail her, she can 'tell' you about additional designs that didn't make it onto her site. (For instance, she make me some cute little wedding couple designs).
I think that is a great idea. I will be more than happy to sign. They are 2 people that really need our help. Arlene
I think that is a great idea. I too buy lottery tickets, in hopes of a win to help them out.
OH YES, a very good idea and I'm ready to sign your letter. One suggestion, any signature should say the country the signee is from to show the world wide love for Shirlene.
I definitely like the idea of showing our countries. It really does show how loved Shirlene is.
What a fantastic idea. Ellen is one of the most loved personalities on TV. I am in South Africa and luckily we get her show. She has such a beautiful spirit, so joyful and giving. I would love to sign a letter if it means Shirlene and Rick can get the help they require, so count me in. Good luck!!
Jerri You can definitely count me in. I live in Australia, but I know Shirlene from Cute and have had pm's with her and she is a most awesome and deserving lady. I will do what ever I can to help with this. I don't watch Ellen because it is on during the day and I am not much of a daytime tv watcher, but if you think she can help I will put my name to it and help write a letter. what ever is needed.
Alice
Sounds great to me, anything to help my friend out. Jerrib look for a pm from me. Hugs Lisa
I could not get PM to work will try later. Talk to Twee she will know what to do.
Sorry I also should have mentioned that I am having internet problems myself and can't always get on, so if I don't reply, that is the reason. A repair man is coming but not until Friday afternoon.
