I never use Coats and Clark It is cheap thread and really leaves a lot of residue in the bobbin case. I also use prewound bobbins. As much as we all use our machines we should use the best quality products in them that we can afford. It would cost alot to replace that machine to save a few cents at the cash register on thread. Just my opinion
I hope she has it solved by now as this message is 5 months old.

Hi :) I was having the same problem yesterday. Had to take my bottom plates off twice to untangle it! I finally came to realize that the thread that was tangling, was not rayon like all of my other threads. I get awesome results with the rayon (maybe bc it has a slight silky coating?). It did a stitch just fine but when it came to embroidery, it would jam up. Hope this helps! Thanks.
What kind of thread are you using. Somethings I have to change mines around or change it period. I have the HE-120. Also did you take the whole bobbin out and clean under it? IHTH *2U
I believe it's Coats and Clark brand....but it is bobbin thread. I get it from Jo Anns and I found it with the rest of the embroidery thread.
Also, I took out the entire bobbin casing and dusted around it to remove loose threads and debris.
