Dear Shirlene, just saw this post as Ihavenot been on the site for a long time.It is sad to hear of Rick's condition.Uwill be in my prayers always .
Love, Take Care Tanuja
Hi Shirlene, just read your mail and I know that everything will be ok because God is with you both. You both are in my prayer and Rick will recover with you beside him and with god within him. I have been there and I know what it is like, almost lost my memory in 2004 when 4 of my disc collapsed on my nervous system. I had a 50 percent chance of recovering. Even after my surgery, up to this day, many things are blank to me. But with gods grace I have grown stronger and I have leant to live this 'new life' while recovering. We must not take this life for granted, just enjoy each day and grow stronger. Positive thinking and gods guidence is the best healer. You have to be strong to be there for Rick, so try and give yourself some attention. My love and prayer is with you both, Geeta
Sirlene, I am sure you are aware that prayers are being said all around the world for you and Rick, but please don't forget to take care of yourself in all of this. We women forget that we are no use to anyone else if we do not look after ourselves. You and Rick are never far from my thoughts and prayers. God knows what a wonderful person you are because he is being deafened by prayers for you. So do please take care, we all love you.
Alice.
OH my Alice you sure have brought on the water works. Thanks so much - I am trying to care for myself - it has been a rough week, too. Time will tell! Thanks so much.
Shirlene, hope all goes well at the doctors. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. - Hugs and love Yvonne
My prayers continue for you both.
Love,
Jacqueline
Daily prayers for the two of you. I pray that this will soon turn around and you will get the rest you need and have your medical needs seen to. I pray that Rick will grow immeasurably strong and have all of the doctors scratching their heads. Our God is in this with you for the long haul.
OH Jerrilyn, I do hope you are right - thank you very much - I so appreciate these words. Yes, he sure is, too.
Dearest Shirlene: I am so glad that Rick can get some rest. I do hope you are taking advantage to rest then also. You must take care of yourself. I can truly understand not getting rest in the hospital. I have not been on the site much in the past few months since my daughter has been very sick and in the hospital. She has a very sever case of mono. There were so many things they were trying to rule out that we were very scared. She is now at home. She is on the road to recovery but it is slow. You have been in my prayers and I do so hope that therapy can start soon. That is always so important to recovery. Hugs and Love
Cindy B.
Cindy, dear - I have had you in my thoughts and prayers in the last couple weeks - I am glad to hear your daughter is home - it may be a slow recovery - but if she is getting stronger - that is the most important part - take care of you - as well - thanks so much *4U
Hi Shirlene, glad to read that Rick has been resting - the body needs it and you should take a break yourself too.
Who mother's the mother when the mother is not well (or in your case wife)? Make sure you have lots of help.
Our church has hospital visitors does your hospital do that for you? If not, can someone come and sit with Rick whilst you get a break?
You are both constantly in my prayers love always Chris
Chris, thanks so much - we had company today - Rick did great - they both thought he looked good - but you could tell from his hesitation in speach that he is not all the way back and he had a bit of memory loss, too with them. But it was good for him - I got him up and in the shower before and we had a good meal and wonderful conversations.
We are not involved much with our community - as I was always so busy with my Mother - and Rick worked nights - now we are trying to catch up and get involved some - my daughter and her family are on vacation in Mexico right now - so we are doing this on our own for the time being.
We do appreciate the prayers.
Thanks!
I´m thinking of you both every day.
Hugs and love.
Sigrun
Shirlene, I'm so sorry to hear that Rick has had another set-back. I will continue to pray for you both as you face the days ahead. Hugs to you and Rick. In Christ, Judy
You're still in our thoughts and we will continue to pray for you
Shirlene and Rick, I keep you in my prayers. With God's hand to strengthen you everything will work out for the best. Please Shirlene look after yourself because you have to me healthy and strong for the both of you. Blessings and love to both of you.

When I was caring for my Mom around the clock church members came by and gave me breaks. I was grateful for all the extra help even if they just sat and chatted with her. Found out my Mom was glad to have all the visitors and attention. Remember it is important to take care of yourself so if someone offers to sit with Rick give yourself a break and get out of the house and do something for yourself. Prayers for you and Rick.
That would be nice - but I hightly doubt - we will have anyone that will offer - thanks for letting me know - that others around the world do that. It sounds like such a great gift. *4U
Shirlene thanks so much for the update. You also need to take care of yourself at this difficult time. Thinking positive thoughts for both of you. Remembering the odd times I have been in hospital you are woken at the crack of dawn and are unable to get to sleep until very late and you come home needing a good rest
Caroline, that seems to be what is going on with Rick - he needs the rest - I am being positive - that is in my nature - or at least for the last 22 years - I trust in the Lord and I believe he has a plan for the two of us - or I wouldn't have Rick still with me. Thanks! *4U
We are waiting for reports back from a blood test - to allow us to put him back on his anti-seizure medicine - I am some what concerned that he has been without it since Sunday - but I also know that they gave him enough to knock an elephant out, too. We will see the brian surgeon on Monday and the doctor that treated him in the hopsital on Tuesday. I will update you - when I know more.
I was in bed most of today - just not feeling myself - my muscles are sore and tight, too. *4U all
thanks Cindy - that was a good day up at Terri's (twee) house in July.
We have doctor's appointments on Monday - we will see how that goes.
Thanks - we had a good day visiting with Terri (twee).
As for the doctor's appointments - on called before we left and changed it until Tuesday and when we were waiting for the other one - he came out and said he had an emergency at the hospital and that they would reschedule - at least it wasn't our embergency. More - when we actually get to see the doctor's. Hehehe!
Well, Dear One - you take it a little at a time. We will certainly understand how much you must be going through. Hopefully home health will be able to get him back to his old self, and you will be able to get some rest. Hugs.
