You can do something like Jrob mentioned using the file properties within Windows itself. Highlight the file or files you want, right-click, go to Properties, then Summary. You can put in keywords, or source info or... all kinds of different fields here that you can use to 'tag' your files. You can do a batch of them at once too - just highlight as many as you want & give 'em all the same tag(s)! In order for the Windows Search function to find them by the different properties, you have to make sure that Indexing Service is enabled. (If you're not sure, just look in your Search window & it will tell you whether or not Indexing Service is enabled) As long as it's on, you can do a regular Search & find your files by any of those tags you used on them. Hope this helps!
And - sorry - I know this wasn't really answering Ruthie's problem - it was more in answer to Jrob's comment - sorry I didn't get it in the right place!
Thanks for answering Ravyn, the only problem with that is I can't see what my designs look like in Windows Explorer so wouldn't be able to asign any relevant info to them.
Ruthie, check out AnnTheGran.com you will find all kinds of neat things there and a great program named CatalogXPress, I have been using this grogram for several years and it is really nice. Have not up graded to the newer one yet. Happy with what I have. Good luck. Codessa
Thanks for that codessa, I went to that site and read the info, now I'm planning on downloading the trial version to see if it's what I want.
This came up a few weeks ago and dragonlance posted:"TIP - my software allows me to add tags to multiple designs at one time. This is when I place the name "ie: CuteEmbroidery" in the tag so I don't forget where the design came from before filing" but unfortunately didn't tell us the program name.
