I sent them a message, hope they will give me some answers.
ooo bummer, I see a couple of ppl over there have had the same problem. I suspect that it might be digitised to NOT be only FSL, but that you need the mylar to help stabilise. hrm .. this was on my to-do-list .. perhaps I'll wait now to see if the design is corrected (or if they do indeed answer that mylar is needed to sew out correctly). :) xXx
They definately have to be stitched on water soluble and the mylar.
They are free standing just like free standing lace. Just have fewer stitches than regular free standing lace designs because you want the mylar to show through.

Thanks for asking and for your comments - I have not tried them yet but was planning to and will be anticipating the feedback from other.
If these are the FSL Mylar Holiday Earrigns on DBS website did you use Mylar and the Water Soluble stabilizer for the Earrings?

I wonder if you try to size them larger just by abit if that would help.
Are you cutting the jump threads between color stops?
Other wise contact Designs by Sick and get them to correct the problem.
I know they are very small and perhaps they are just too dense for the size they are that could be the problem.

What water soluble stabilizer are you using and how many layers?
What size needle are you using?
What thread are you using?
EastWitch2
Is it the Firbrous type of water soluble stabilizer or the film type?
Did you use 2 layers?

I had the same problem. I used 2 layers fibrous WSS, size 11 needle and 40wt embroider on top and bobbin thread. But, they turned out all with wads of thread on the back. I do a lot of FS embroidery and never have had such a mess of thread on the back.
