I have borrowed from my daughter and really didn't like it then. When I click on the icon of my design it tells me I need to update my version. (He got the 1.07) we have looked everywhere and they must not have that version anymore. (my luck). Brother's even doesn't show it on their website. Anyone out there know where I can find this. that is what I have, you can go to Brothers and upgraded it free.I also have the Era and I like it a lot.But you have a sweet husband and that is more important than any program.

60484Hi Terre, When I got my Ped Basic it was 1.0 and I had to update to the 1.07 through Brother.com and it works perfectly. I have never had a problem with it since. I could not change formats or sizes with it though so I finally got the Wilcom TruSizer and finally learned how to use it. The only thing it won't change is VIP so I have to use Pulse Ambassador to change and with that I kind of have to hit and miss cause I still am not good working with it. Wish you luck in getting it going. I like mine very much.

My all these programs to do what we have to do. hehehe... I've not used the Wilcom. It says my basic will resize. I'll have to look again and see. :)
33580I have PED Basic, and when I got my new computer with Windows 7, I had to go back to my dealer and he gave me info on how to D/L upgrades to make it work with Win 7. While there, I got the other updates too. I also have version 1.07. That is the newest one I think. It was like going through a jungle to get the correct stuff on the web, but it was there. hehehe... Carolyn, the PED basic, is a brother software that will let you see what your design looks like and it will let you resize the design. But that is all it will do that I'm aware of. So I still have my Pulse Ambassador to convert other formats. We think what happened is when my daughter came over to use my machine, she d/l her V5 software to create her designs, and that is what it was asking for to update. I never uninstalled it even though I couldn't use it. So I think all is good for now. :)

Yes, I was very surprised with this. I've gone to both websites, and it is showing that my version 1.07 is the most recent, so I don't understand why I'm getting this update thingy... I guess I will get used to it maybe. I still like have to use the ambassador to convert.

Thank you Anita, we have already been there and I already have the 1.07 version. But somewhere there is another version it is wanting me to update. The other software place is for my machine and there are no updates needed for that. Tomorrow I have an early Christmas party at the store where I bought it and I'm going to take to someone there and see what they say.

Trust me Beth, I'm not complaining just aggravated that it is an older model that is brand new. He ordered it from Amazon and got a good price for it and free s&h, so that is good. :) We have gone to the brother site, but to no avail.

Well I could say hardly surprising. Seriously there has just been a update in Brother softwear. If you are unhappy with what you have got can you sell on wbay or the like and then get what you want? Apologies if you dont like this idea

I made the comment as you dont seem to happy with your DH gift. My daughters mil was given a silver toothpick one Christmas and was furious at her husbands gift (it was not cheap) but he said well dear when we go out for a meal you always ask for a toothpick so I thought you might like your own...

Shirlene, he can be very thoughtful, but sometimes without thinking about whether it is going to work or not. hehehe... He is a fixit kind of guy, so I'm sure he is going to find a way to make it work. hehehe.
