Why would you want a zip-file? That's not something your PEDbasic could use, you'd have to unzip it first.
My software can read several versions of pes and also convert to it, but I've no idea to what version, I guess the latest. But whichever version it was, I could write it to a card with my Today I used my (5 yr old) PEDbasic and my machine could handle it.
You'd better ask (in a Private Message) the digitiser who uploaded the design to help you.
Welcome to Cute. What is the design, then someone else can have a go too
What format are you downloading? Designs by Cuties section does not have zip files. Also if you are using pes and converting make sure you know which level of pes you use. Pes can be version 4.0. 5.6, 6, 7, and lower numbers. A machine that takes pes 4.0 will not be able to read pes 6.0 so you need to convert it to a lower version. Same goes for the PE design software. My software will only read up to pes 5.6 so I need to convert anything lower. In DBC people can upload any level of pes, some are low some are high. Hope this helps.
Sewmon I have found your answer very interesting. I am able to use designs in PE design up to seven. It does not seem to affect my machine at all. I have Galaxie3000 and PE 5. I have also used my designs on the 150, 180 and the 2000 and not had problems at all. I also know of someone who is still working in PE2 (!)
I just realized that I probably haven't tried to put a design higher than 5.6 in my machine. If my PE design doesn't read it I assume that the machine won't, so I convert before I put it on my floppy disk and put it in my machine. I'm sure my PE design does not read over 5.6.
I probably have an older version of PE design that you. They have had upgrades too just like everything else.
