I told myself that I would be more ont he ball this year and now look at me...still have barely started! Even after all those reminders from embropidery library about how many days until Christmas, too! I still have plans to do this and do that, but hav discovered I am so busy that when it comes time to actually do these things I am too tired from work and won't possibly start anything when I'm feeling that way.

Some good news is that I did finally find a job again. I had been unemployed since April and the money I was getting fromt he govt was barely getting us by, so now I have a job that makes almost twice what I was getting all those months (although I'm sure the tax man will cut it down even more - but none the less, it's still more money). It feels good to have a purpose again. To get up and go to work and feel like a contributing part of society! Bets part is, my work is only 1.3 kilometers from my home. How great is that?!!!

Anyways, now that I'm back in the workforce again, I am finding I have less time and was wondering if I was not alone in barely having started my Christmas List of Giving...

Yippee, I think you got a wonderful Christmas present this year, your new job. I tell my husband every trip away from home to think Christmas presents, so most of it is done through vacation and/or business trips.

Congratulations on the job. I have the Christmas cards almost stitched (doing in ME this year) but still have the greetings to do and envelopes, etc. I also have the money holders for the GC done and ready to go - that is a first for me to have them done so soon (again, in ME). I still have baking to plan, other gifts to figure out and/or make, and time will fly oh so fast....

Congratulations Rita on the job - that is super that it is so close to home. I have less time and not worried about what really happens that far ahead.

I got off easy, the 2 grown sons and 1 DIL all just get cash and my parents don't allow us to give them anything, my father would hit the roof if we tried. The rest of the family don't do gifts of any kind.
Congrats on the job! Exciting!

I am glad you have a job and that you feel good about yourself. As for my Christmas shopping it will probably be like every other year, a mad dash on Christmas eve. Well at least in the last few days before. I am finding it harder and harder to work out what to get people. everyone has so much these days, we are very spoiled society that you can't get someone something they don't already have without taking a second mortgage on the house.
So now I usually go for gift cards. We have a selfish santa for the whole family which is where you buy something that you want and it goes under the tree then people steel each others presents. the person whose gift gets stolen the most wins. Last year I put the Celtic FC logo on two towels and I one the most stolen gift prize. But I don't know what to do this year.

I have most of it accomplished. Still have several things to embroider. I am going out tomorrow and hopefully will finsh up the shopping part. If I need anything else it will have to be internet shoppiong. Next comes cooking, baking, and candy making.

Well - some things done, and lots to do - Black Friday will see my daughter and GD out in the madhouse. I have time to take to be away from work, and hope that I can get some sewing done then.

Great news about the job AND that it is so close to home. Chrismas? it will be low key this year and different by choice. It will be exactly a year since my mother died and my son in law is working. we are going to celebrated on Boxing Day instead. My machine is still at the repairers which is miles and miles away so there it will be until I hear it it is ready

Almost completed but I must 'fess up a lot has been purchased by ordering on the Internet. A few more things to sew up & a few more things to embroidery & I am through. Now comes all the cooking, purchased over a $100.00 worth of items to make fruitcakes this morning & that's not counting the 2 cups of pecans or the wine that goes into the making of each one. These are requested gifts from fmly members or I wouldn't do it. I have my first tree already decorated so that's one part of decorating that is done. Must tend to Thanksgiving makings before I can get much more done.

Grab a couple of those family members and have a fruitcake baking party. Oh what fun. It sounds like you are prepared for the holidays. Wish I was but if it was'nt for the last minute nothing would get done. Happy Holidays

Oh that sounds good. Hubby asked me if I thought that I could make fruit cakes this year - but, I just looked at him. My recipe rippens for 30 days, and I don't even want to think what the nuts and fruits would cost now. I have not made one in years.

What good news to hear of your new job. I know I'm behind but you can always shop online. No crowds and you can do it from home. Try not to stress and enjoy the holidays.
