Maria, how wonderful for you - I did the geneology search for my family - I got them back at least 10 genrations from me - with the kids and grands that is 12 generations on both sides of the family - we had a much bigger family than we thought - too bad that they are all gone - I have a few cousins that are my father's age - but not many and none from another country - actually we couldn't get my father's family back to Denmark - we knew the city - but not the family names to research further. Enjoy your visit and let us know how it goes for all of you.

Just plain wonderful!!! I am so Happy for all of you! I love it when families get together. My DH & I were to visit oldest son & family in Wyoming, but because of that WHITE stuff in the weather report, decided not to make the 12 hr trip. Too many chances of disaster! Hahaha! I am German Dutch amoung other things! Another "Fruit Cake" hahaha! Hugs, Judy

How wonderful to have "found" family. My husband and I "found" some of his relatives going back to the 1740's. It's a long story, but just briefly - his mom got some info from one of her in-law relatives, and discovered after knowing each other for many decades, that they were blood-related going back several generations. So, when my husband had to go to Germany for a work assignment, I meet up with him afterwards so we could have a vacation there. We ended up finding several families from the same "ancestor", and they welcomed us open arms. We had such a good time with them learning about our German roots. It was totally unexpected to actually meet relatives. Those are the best vacations.

Hope you have a great time catching up with your US "cousins".

Family trees are wonderful things and very interesting. I am the keeper of my families information. It can be almost become an addiction like machine embroidery. Some of my ancestors came here to Australia from Germany. Have fun. love Marg

What fun! I am German on my mother's side, but her last name was Smith so I don't even want to try to locate family, lol!
I am English, Irish, German, Welsh and Dutch.

We call that a "Heinz 57" - meaning a wide variety of nationalities.
