Today we had a 3-generation assembly line making center pieces for my GS's Jr ROTC military ball. He called these "Toy Soldiers" - and a few have his own take on what they should look like. But we made these from clay pots. This took several hours for everything to be done, but we were doing other projects for the ball too. Grandpa even got involved - he did most of the painting and putting together prior to our jobs today. 6 of us were working on these - and there is a total of 16 tables done so far. We did not take pictures of the wreaths that the "Soldier" is going to set in, but only 2 tables have them sitting in chargers - these had to be different - one for staff, and one for head table. We learned today that we need to do the POW table, and there are special items that must go on it. We have until December 11th. This is about 1/2 of them.

This is quite a decorating job and this is only half. They look great and having everyone help is an added bonus. I love doing projects with my children and now with my granddaughters.

Great job. I know this is a lot of work especially when you are hand painting them. I've done several, but not the toy soldiers. I know they will all enjoy them. So cute!

These look great. By the time the military ball is over you will be worn out with all that you are involved with.
