Great dress. Love the "grow with the child" part. You have inspired ME. I have 5 granddaughters. hehe
Becky they are so fun to make, and older girls like wearing them as tops with their leggins or jeans.
That is just darling! The fabric really is cute and the idea that you can let down the hem is a big plus! Great job Terre!
Debra
Thank you Debra. I love that these are such versatile dresses and the child can grow with them.
This would be a GORGEOUS CHRISTMAS DAY DRESS for a little girl especially in this fabric. It's a great idea and I love the simplicity of the pattern. We often have sun frocks like this for our Australian summer - it's b...dy hot down under. Ha Ha He He!!
Love and blessings Chris
Hehehe...Yes this is the perfect type of dress for your Christmases... You have a couple of GD, did this inspire you? hehehe
Very nice work - I can see why the lady bought it on the spot - keep up the great work. I hope you sell lots of them. *4U
Thank you Shirlene. Yes, I didn't expect her to like it so much that she would buy it but hey, that's a good thing. I've made a couple more since then. :)
This is an adorable dress and I love the fabric as well! Thanks for sharing and flowers for all
Here's a couple of sites that you can check out as well for instructions.

Good luck
Thanks Ramona for sharing these websites. Nothing like a video to show you how to do something. I'm a visual person myself. That is why I put up the pictures on our YOU website too. :)
Such a sweet little dress you've made. I thinking on Sewing with Nancy there was a guest who spoke of a charity that sends these dresses to children in third world countries. Maybe someone knows the name of the group. Thanks for sharing your project& God's blessings.:~D
Yes Robin, I think they are still doing that. I think the name of the group is APAU called Dress a girl around the World. Thank you.
What a great ideal. Too bad I donot have any little girls to make one for.
Thank you Betty, I don't have little girls that wear these either(great grand doesn't like dresses)... I make these to sell. Especially for Christmas. or themed holidays.
What a clever idea. The dress grows with the child.
In today's economy, every little bit helps. Beautiful dress and love the print.
Thank you. Yes you can let the bows out also to lengthen the arms too. Comes in handy for growing children. Also when they outgrow it as a dress they can use it as a top...
Lovely lovely dress!
It's still a dress. I didn't make this with a pillowcase. It is just called that because they used to use pillowcases to make these dresses.:)
Don't have any little ones to make this for but it sure is adorable.
Joanne, I don't have little ones that I see much. I actually made this, this morning as an example for another lady who had bought several hair clippies. She bought the dress right then and there. Now I'm home sewing a few more to sell. They go fast.
I love this! Have always wanted to try to make one but I am not sure how to finish the armhole. I have seen some patterns that show different ways, but I am still scared to try it. Any pattern you saw would be helpful to me to get started with this. Thanks for sharing, it gives me inspiration to try one.

Thank you Penny. I actually don't use a pattern for these,(about the only thing I don't use a pattern for)LOL...I do finish my armholes several different ways, but this one is the quickest. I serge the armholes, and then fold down just the size for the serging, not much, and then stitch it down. As you go around the curve, gently straighten as you go, but don't pull tight because it will cause it to pucker. Once you do the armholes, then seam your back and then fold down the top sections, seam them, and run your ribbon through your "casing". Holler if you need more directions.
