We make "The Beans", a recipe from my grandmother made with green beans, onions, bacon, yum, I can't wait. Only for special occasions.

I love it too!! with lots of butter and marshmallows. We add a little bit of Cuban dish el congri, and some of our Dominican friends bring their dishes too, here in Dominican Republic is not a holiday but we still celebrate it anyway. The stores have turkey and cranberry all delicious Thanksgiving traditional food, I think is is because there are many Dominican that immigrate to US that Thanksgiving is becoming part of the Dominican tradition too. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
I always have Pecan Pie, Dressing Sweet Potato Casserole with crunchy topping, rolls, green beans and Turkey. I usually have Pumpkin pie, but this year were having Homemade Chocolate pie my GD's favorite and mashed potatoes with gravy. I guess my favorite is pecan pie and sweet potato casserole. Thankful most of all for family, our health, and time spent together. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everybody where ever you are and be thankful you have the time together. Sara in Alabama
Well, now that you asked... I look forward to the candied Sweet potatoes, Stuffing with gravy, and my Shoe Fly Pie!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all Cuties everywhere!!! Hugs and Prayers, Judy
Well - we always have to have "Gramma's bread" as my grandkids call it. It is something that I have made since first married, and the family is getting so big now that I have to make 3 batches so there is enough for them to take some home. Too, I am the only one that makes fresh cranberry sause. I also have to make at least one of the Hershey Bar Pies for the grands. My favorite is probably all of the fresh vegetables and the dressing, as we call it. We do not stuff the turkey as my parents did years ago - not with the scares that have been put out about it. But, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and may you enjoy the day and be thankful for families. Hugs to you all.
Brocoli rice casserole is my favorite followed by homemade rolls.....blessings Janet
We tend to like it all at our home but one of my favorites is my mom's cranberry orange relish. We always make plenty so we can freeze and have some throughout the year with ham or baked chicken.
Is is an excellent idea to have a recipe section. Maybe something Miss Veronica can add for next year.
We have a couple of traditions in our family that isn't typical, one is my Grandmother's fruit salad which I now make, and the other is one that I started many years ago and that is a French Silk Pie (hand made not store bought. Those are my two favorite's, although I do like the stuffing that comes with the turkey... Those three would make a meal in itself. hehehe. BTW I just thought of something... How about a RECIPE forum on YOU? I'll open it up and you can share your favorite recipe's so others can enjoy them to... What do you say?
If you think that is not typical you will be surprise to know that I HAVE TO HAVE some rice and black beans to go with the turkey!!!lol lol lol**********
Yes!Yes!Yes!I would love to share recipes. Family is gone and I would hate for them to go unused.
Love it all, but esp. the homemake cranberry dish from my aunt's kitchen of long ago! Gotta cook day before so it can gel. I have to make TWO..one for the nut lovers & one for the "non-nut" lovers!
I sm s nut so I would love the one with the nuts, hahahahahaha thansk********

Dear Maria,
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia - but I just want to wish all of you Americans the very best.
May you all experience a lightness in your spirit, great fellowship with your families, good health and I pray that you will all feel loved. We in the "free" world have much to be thankful for.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving on Thursday.
Love and blessings Chris
I was born in Cuba and we do not celebrate it there either, but it is almost the way we celebrate Christmas, lots of food and family. We do not exchange presents and Christmas, just the kids on January 5, when the kids wake up in the morning of the 6 the toys are in front of your bed, not under the Christmas tree.
I love the stuffing and the cranberry relish. Have a happy thanksgiving and enjoy your yams and stuffing. Hugs, Mary
When I was very young my mother would dress us up and take us to a fancy department store in downtown Columbus, Ohio. She would treat us to lunch at the cafe where we would get steamed celery dressing with a slice of turkey and gravy. (It may have been the cheapest thing on the menu.) So for me it's the dressing that I now put cranberries and apples in. Yum!
THE WHOLE DINNER. Love it all. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
