than the price shows on the Ikea internet site. They said the price might vary at stores and they only guarantee the price if it is in their catalog. Got a set of bulbs for them and a cute candle lantern (for my battery candle) and a set of plain potholders that I hope are not too thick to embroider on! I would have bought more of those if I was sure they weren't too thick. Anyway, hopefully after Thanksgiving I'll make a cover or 2 for the lamps and post pics!

Glad your shopping trip was fairly successful. I never go shopping with my husband - although he quite likes to go with me. Rather be by myself then he does not see what I buy for my sewing!!!! Sarah.

So happy to hear that you got a couple things while you were gone shopping - tht is always great - I wonder - if you bought fat potholders - if you could perhaps - embroidery on a patch and then sew the patch onto the potholder - that way - the thickness may not be a problem so much. Hugs, dear!

I embroidered one and posted it in projects. Just did it with redwork but I think it is cute.

Me too, I have virtually no fabric I can use because I have only been embroidering on towels and doing FSL but I do have some white eyelet that I used for a wedding name and date with fall leaves and framed it plus gave them a matching frame for the wedding pic we haven't seen yet! I think that fabric will do nicely for a first cover.

Hello Debra,
yes men and children are always a problem when you wanna take a look around and they have other plans. The kids you can put in the kids-paradise but what a pity: No paradise for the men to bring them in and where they can watch TV and and relax (without women who want to stop all the way and watch on the right and on the left ;o).
I send you a mail later but here it is 5.30am and I didn't sleep right now and I have to lay down for the next 90minutes until Anna has to wake up for school...
Greetings, Bettina

I thought he was going to go sit in the little eating place they have inside the store but he didn't. He just followed me mumbling and taking glucose tablets to bring his sugar up.

Next time do it like with kids on a long journey: Portable DVD-player and a movie he likes will hold him in his seat ;o)
If he is a "good kid" he will have s nice meal and dessert afterwards *lol*
Greetings, Bettina

Thanks, had a good time but would have liked to have looked around more. He'll drive all that way and then be impatient when we get there.

Lucky me, I got a new DIL who loves to cook and we are going to their house, all I have to do is bake the frozen pumpkin pies! :)

With the lamps, did they have very many?

leenova54 by leenova54 23 Nov 2010

Yeah, there were maybe 30 on display but on the internet check of what the store has in stock they listed over 300. They have like a warehouse inside the store!
