from time to time. This is the only tree in my yard that changes color in the fall, and looses the leaves. It is a Chinese Tallow Tree, and came up from birds dropping the seed pods. We have a couple on our property, and had we had the rains we needed it may have been prettier. Just wanted to share our color with you. Pic to follow

Very pretty. I love our florida trees. I moved here from Md almost 30 years ago and have never looked back. As for the darn Palmetto bugs, just goes to show even paradise has thorns (giggle) besides my cats play with em and keep em out of the house - see good kitty ;-)

Oh you have made me homesick. I so miss Florida, but I am determined to make the best of it here in North Dakota (high of 24 yesterday and another snow storm).

We live about 20-25 miles from Daytona Beach toward the East Coast. Safety Harbor is across the state from us.

I love the changes of the trees in autumn...don't see it here in Queensland Australia though. Hugs Sally

That is pretty! When we were in FL for our short mostly in the car trip I fell in love with the Palmetto trees! I especially like the short ones with the larger part of the trunk in the center, reminded me of pineapples! I want one but I don't think it would survive our cold Ohio winter. It's 35 and falling now and we have rain that iced a bit on the windshield.

No - the palm would not like your cold weather. I do not care for palms because they have horrid roaches in the trucks, as least the ones I have been close to have had them. Anyway, most of our trees are oaks, and pine on the property. When we had the hurricanes a few years ago, we lost 30-40 of our trees, and it broke my heart to see all of that beauty gone. But one blessing came of it - we now have magnolias coming up on the property, and they bloom.
