I do not have any ideas for funny or clever. However, I have been doing fabric shower curtains for daughter and daughter-in-law. Defintely has been a challenge. I have one finished and it has flamingos and palm trees on it. The other one will have flowers and I still have to work on it. I had better get busy.
Your idea is very clever. I am not very imaginative right now so I can't come up with much of anything.
Making christmas cards with removable FSL ornaments. I found greeting cards that you insert photos and will place the FSL ornmant inside that opening on heavy starched silk fabric scraps I have left over from another project.
At the rate I am going i will think it is both funny and clever if I manage to get myself organised for Christmas. You people are so organised.

Thought I'd do the embroidery on a TP roll that says: do not use; only for emergency.
The funniest thing i made were the snowmen that were in our designs by cuties that read What Happens When a Snowman has gas LOL carolyn
I made a dreidel out of felt and embroidered the four different sides, The unusual part is that it is for a friend of mine's daughter who is in a sorority and it has their symbols on each side. Different.
I am not sure how clever or funny - but, I have four brothers and I am making each one of them a hot/cold comfort pack. I use a flannel fat quarter and make channels long ways up it - fill it with rice - sewing the end and then I stitch a cover for it out of fleece and embroider on both sides. I will stitch something funny on one side and put a design on the other (like one of Veronika's beautiful colorful roosters).
I'm making hot/cold therapy bags too for my kids and grandkids. Still trying to find designs appropriate for each
It is hard to think of a "guy's gift" to sew or embroider - but, I think the comfort packs are a good one for them!!! (kids too!!).
I just might have to borrow your idea. That sounds super easy to make and perfect for the guys in our family. How long should they be micrwaved to heat em up?
Sorry, I have been off my PC for a while. Please do use the idea - I have made 2 for others in our family and they do like them!! I tell them to only heat them 2 minutes and they should not get them wet. Be sure to not fill them completely with rice - they need to have a little "wiggle" room to form around your neck or shoulder.
They aren't funny, but I thought clever. I make tater baker bags, but I embroider a 5x7 rectangle (from Five Star Fonts) turned sideways, and then embroider the Tater Baker design on top of that (free from ?)I gave one to mom for her birthday-she loves it! I also give fleece mittens with an embroidered snowflake on top-which are always a hit-sometimes with a matching scarf.
How does the Tater Baker bag work? I've never heard of it before and now I'm intrigued.
It's a fabric bag made with 100% cotton, also lined with 100% cotton batting. You bake the potatoes in the microwave and they come out awesome. I do not know how to download pictures-sorry.
I am using a large applique letter , to represent the last name, then choosing phrase of the season to embroidery over it. Example B-best wishes W-winter wonderland ,etc. At the moment using it on tea towels
I don't have anything funny or clever - but wanted to keep this at the top. *4U
I embroidered I Kiss better than I Cook on a pair of panties for a someone who does not cook if she can get her husband to do it.
