I downloaded the free Xmas tree other day. It has a place to cut it down thru top and another bigger design, cut thru bottom. Supposed to be 4 pieces, I assume, to stand up. How do I use design?

I love 3D ornaments. Quick and easy to do and with a big impact.

If it's the one I saw recently. There is two halves to this Free Standing Lace Tree. The one has a slit in the bottom half and the other a slit in the top. These "slits" slot over each other allowing the tree to stand. in days gone by the bottle were packed with cardboard separating them in a box with the same "slit" priciple

Do you mean the ones in DesignsbyCuties? Smithandsmith's one is supposed to be sewn on felt and has instructions on how to do it. The design consists of two parts that slot into each other to be free standing (or hanging).
Mine are FSL (free standing lace) and are stitched on water soluble stabiliser which is removed by rinsing once the embroidery is done. Again only 2 parts that slot into each other.

is it the felt one or fsl? You need to make the 2 sections, make the cuts and slip them together. You may need to take a small stitch at the bottom to hold it together, have fun with these and take a look in projects for a better view.
