Oh Bev,You are blessed not to live in my bush .We have 4 inches of snow & more to come tonight. The temp.is around the freezing point today but in winter it can get really cold & tons of snow like maybe -45 .Hope you have warmed up by the time you read this Thinking of you:):)Carolyn
Mine sure is... but so are my two shih tzus that lay in my lap. :-)
I'm loving this cool weather. This Texas summer about killed this SoCal beach girl!
I could use one also. Now that you have brought it up I will have to try to make one. It might be a very good thing.
Also, if you go to this site, they have 2 free patterns. One regular size and one child size. The download is at the very bottom of the page. A friend made one from the Sisson site and she said that it was easy to do. What my friend did was to make it about 18" longer, and then she folded up the bottom to the inside and sewed up the sides. This formed a sort of pocket at the bottom, where she could tuck her feet inside, and keep her feet warm.

You sure got some entertaining answers to this question, Bev! We've got the first day of Summer here and it's been pouring rain, but not chilly enough for a snuggie :) Maybe you're a little overtired if you can't get warm? Can't surely be from too many hours reading on here!
Hi. If you click on the link below and go to the Sisson Family Website, and scroll about half way down, there is a pattern for one. She has it in a PDF file so you will be able to save it to your computer. Linda
You can borrow mine it is 26c today so don't think I will need it....Hugs Sally
Most winters I make a floor length sweatshirt out of a fleece throw. I haven't got round to it yet this year. The picture is the one I made last year.
Snuggies remind me of hospital gowns so I can't get enthusiastic! At the moment, I'm wearing a fleece top and trousers looking out at about 40cm snow in the garden.
I could do with one today as it is raining and not very warm here right now.
I have two gorgeous fleece blankets, one is blue tones with dolphins on it, the other is brown tones with Lion cubs on it, I was thinking of turning them into Snuggies long before snuggies were thought up.
I also have a lovely, soft, quilted sleeping bag that I had often thought I would like to make wearable as it is so comfy, cozy.
Maybe one day I'll get around to doing all these things, sure as heck can't do them though until we have finished moving house. LOLOL!!!

I read in Readers Digest that the young man who first designed those snuggie things is now a millionaire. He was a student and got so cold he re-designed his sleeping bag so that he could use the TV remote without getting his hand cold!!
My GS has one they are so warm and super easy to make!!!!*************Where in Texas do you live? I am in Katy Texas. They are just a blanket with two long sleeves.
I don't have one but my bf does and says she'll never be without one and will probably be buying another to have for the 12yr old gs when he comes by so he'll not try to take her's while they're watching tv and talking.
LOL... I have to laugh because last year when I got my machine (15th dec), that was the first thing I bought, was snuggies for 4 of my grandchildren and put their names on them.LOL I did pretty good considering that was my first. They let me know they are still using them. LOL... Keep warm! We are having heavy rain and tornado warnings...But it isn't too cold yet.
Where in Texas? I live in El Paso and it is cold here too...don't like cold weather much, I need a Snuggie too. Lol
I have to admit that I had to google the word Snuggie cause I did not know what that is. Found tons at amazon and had to laugh cause there is also a "snuggie sutra"-book to show you how to use it for 2 to make them hot ;o)
Greetings, Bettina
PS: It's freezing cold in Germany and we had the first snow. Going back to the living-room and to my hot wood stove...
Bettina, you need a snuggie to embroider and wear to town. You will start a new fashion rage and everyone will want one
Bev
I don't have a snuggie, but something different. I call it my sock. It has a zipper up the front and holes to stick my feet throgh at the bottom. I literally covers me from my neck to my feet. It is ugly but warm. Think of a robe with the hem closed leaving 2 holes to stick your feet through. It is actually very comfortable and easy to walk in. Gee, I think I'll go put it on now. It is 13 degrees outside right now.
I would trip myself, like walking with your shoe strings tied together. No matter how far apart they put the holes I'd still trip, lol! I have seen those in magazines.
I don't have one, so here is some sunshine from Queensland, although it is not sunny today it is raining but it is 25C about 80F, so it is pretty warm
Alice.
I've made several... they are lovely to have! Now, I haven't worn mine to a baseball game like they do on a commercial, but a friend borrowed one for a snuggie pub crawl and said it was quite cozy. They are getting cheaper, and, as Nina says below, it's probably just as economical to purchase one.. unless there's a fabric you love that's on sale. :D
You can buy the knock off ones really cheap. I saw some the other day at a new store here called Roses and they had them for $5.00. When I started chemo a woman made one for me but it is a little different in the sleeves. It is blue with snowflakes and she made me a matching cap to keep my bald head warm and footies too. Didn't let me pay her for anything and I have never heard from her again. Came into my life in an email and went out just like that. An angel to watch over me I guess. My cats love it, when I sit down and put it over me the older cat takes that as an invitation to sleep as long as she wants!
Was the stores Roses or Ross? I used to have a Sunbeam throw that plugged in like an electric blanket when i lived in Pennsylvania. I'm going to look for another and turn it up on high. Winter has arrived and i don't think I was quite ready.
bev
It is Roses, it is something new here and they have a sister store called Maxway. All ladies tops were $5-$10, jeans for $10, sweats and flannel pj bottoms for $5. Lots of cheap stuff. The snuggie in the new ad I got today was a zebra stripe.
Angel while you were doing Chemo....
I had one of those, too. She knit me 2 soft caps and I did not even know her. Since then, I have been gifting those I hear are going through Chemo or Radiation.
Yes, love it. Found a free pattern to make them on Oregon Patch Works site, but as inexpensive as they are, it's probably cheaper to buy one than to purchase the material unless you get a really good deal on the fabric..ANd, yes, it is cold in San Antonio tonight!
