This is a good point. It would be wonderful to find a fellow cutie near me. I'm sure others feel the same way. I like it when a new Cutie introduces her/himself makes it easier to respond and welcome them.

I (personally) like to know who I am talking to. I especially dislike it, when people think I'm good enough to email me for free digitising but they won't even use their real name, or worse still, they don't sign it at all.
I don't bother replying to these kind of people any more. I am a real person, not a machine, not a big business or even a small business, just Meg Anne and I believe I deserve to be written to and treated as a person, and that includes knowing WHO I am talking to.
BUT, on an open, public forum, YES you should be wary of what you divulge, though first name, age, marital state, how many kids, grandkids, hobbies & interests, like & dislikes, State and Country are all things that are really non personal as long as you don't mention Surnames, addresses & PRIVATE emads. INTERNET emads are ok (as long as you don't mind spam)
Just my personal opinion and not worth very much to anyone but me. LOL!!!
Hugs and roses, Meg Anne
I agree, if you don't want to share your real name or whatever but it is fun to find that another cutie lives in the same state, maybe just a general area of it. Like, I could say I live in NE Ohio. I have an SE-350 Brother machine, bottom of the line. Simple as that.
You can actually find out more about me cause I don't worry about that info so much, not giving out my social security number, lol!
I am happy to share more personal information via PM, and then emails with individuals, but on public profiles I am cagey about what information I divulge.
While the internet can be wonderful, for example I really enjoy the Cute community, it is an unfortunate fact that any information posted on the internet becomes public domain and is also viewable by those who collect information for not so savoury reasons.
OK.. I will try to think of something to say about myself that doesn't sound to stupied. Not very good talking about myself.

I'm sure it won't sound stupid! Are you a Mom? A Grandma? What state do you live in, what country? What is your favorite kind of embroidery? What kind of machine do you have? These are just a few things to think about and none of it is too revealing. You'll do fine!

I would like Cuties who want to share their real first name to put that in their profile also. It is sometimes hard to remember first names and I prefer to address people as their name. I know some people don't want to share that, and that is just fine.
Although I am 1000 plus I'm still new at working the computer - now soon as I figure how to give you the details in my profile - here is some info - married, 2 childern one in San Jose California. Live in South Africa
Sue, I agree even if just the country you reside in..perhaps what sewing machine you use..Just helps when reading posts and you wonder where they are from...I often check and so often not even a country listed. just interested. Hugs Sally
Sue,this has been requested before. While I do agree that its nice to know a little about our family members, we must respect that some may feel uneasy about telling others about themselves, their lives and where they live.
Helen
I know - I think I asked it last time! I wanted to try to reach the new members so I asked again.
I couldn't agree with you more Sue.<br />Come on all you newcomers please fill in your profiles. Sarah.
Dear Sue,
I totally agree with you - I love to know where all of the Cuties are from around the world. It's a great way also to see who you might be compatible with. For example how many years you've been married (if you are), if you have children etc. What your likes/dislikes are, what sort of sewing machine you have etc. etc. The list is endless!
Thankyou for raising the issue.
Love and blessings Chris
