I have thousands of designs and I would bet I have stitched out less than one hundred. I spend hours downloadind, buying, organizing and then trying to pick a couple to use....lol

Shirlene - I think it proves we are all *still* addicted, doesn't it, haha. These addiction posts pops-up on a regular basis - meaning that all new members are catching the bug from us!!! I think we should warn them - on second thoughts maybe not, would you want to have been warned, I wouldn't, in fact, I wouldn't have believed them, would you? Oh well sweetie - it's back to downloading for me, haha. Hugs and a flower.

Should have said that this is in response to shirlene's post - the one written 58 days after raels first posted this one, haha!!! Keep up the addiction *Cute* folks.

Addicted? Addicted? Who's addicted? Not me! Never. I think the reality is that darn word FREE. Few are able to turn down anything (most anything) free. Gets us every time. Now if I just had the time, money, material and thread to sew out everything I have. I do make denim patchwork throws as a way to test most of the designs. That way I know which are the good ones and which ones aren't. And I have an endless supply of gifts when needed. I go to the local thrift store and buy up used jeans for my denim ($10 a trash bag). Good for pillows too. Keep on collecting them FREE designs.

Hello Raels, yes I have been at it for hours and all the time I am thinking that I am never going to be able to stitch them all out but I cant stop , I have been forced to stop now by my eyes hanging out of my head and me nearly falling off the chair a few times and you think oh just one more. HA HA HA she'll be right and then you mess up the file numbers, I have learn't to stop after the first couple of jults off the chair. LOL

Sanjoy, you need to embroider yourself a seatbelt for that computer chair, LOL. Marji

tmbache by tmbache 31 Jan 2008

Hey you girls, you aren't alone I don't fall out of chair, nice big arms there to keep me SAFE when I FALL ASLEEP in the chair and wake up to gather a few more of them there ''''FREE'''' ones.

Yesssss! We stalk, we hunt, we catch the designs like ravening wolves, or great cats. Giggle, snort, laugh. At least we don't have to clean our catch, or scale it....LOL LOL

joaniessw by joaniessw 29 Mar 2008

Actually... Yes we do have to "scale" (resize ) it sometimes lolol

Okay Girls and Guys,we're all here for the same reason! To cruise the air waves instead of the streets of town. To pick up freebies instead of the opposite sex.And to stay UP late downloading instead of staying OUT late. Boy am I telling my age.LOL Happy collecting and hopefully a little stitching also.

Ha ha ha, Tmbache, I remember all those things, if somebody was giving out free designs standing with the 'bad boys' around the corner lamppost, we'd be there, lol lol. Marji

Shame on you Raels, it's like you have nothing better to do! HaHaHa!!! I wouldn't do that - not much I wouldn't. ***** lr, at least collecting designs isn't fattening like chips! ***** Rika, there is definitely *nothing wrong with us* - we are completely well-adjusted and sane human beings - it's just that we all have this little weakness and *can't* stop collecting designs. It's almost like our life depends on it - and who knows maybe it does! Have fun collecting those designs girls. Here's flowers for everyone - another addiction?

Flower addiction? Here's one for everybody. Speak for yourself on that "sane" part, Ruthie, hahaha, I made the cat food comment, remember? lol lol

ruthie by ruthie 31 Jan 2008

Marji, re the *sane* part - - - I can dream, can't I!!!!!!!!!!!!

13558
by lr2008 30 Jan 2008

Once you start you cant stop, its like a bag of chips, you get one, then another and it just keeps going..after awhile you learn to take what you really like because you wind up like the crazy embroidery lady like me who has hundreds of disks, stacks of paper with color printouts, tons of files and it takes over your life..like the lady with 30 cats, and just as messy too!! but if its something you enjoy and it keeps you out of the fridge and out of trouble..WHY NOT??

marjialexa by marjialexa 31 Jan 2008

Lr, I have only 6 cats, but I don't print out designs, it's still a mess, but I *love* it. I wonder how many hours it would take to actually sew out the ones I have? lol lol

bikermomfl by bikermomfl 29 Mar 2008

M - I've got 8 cats and they have a habit of 'sleeping near me' all the time. I'm trying to download and there's a furry blockage in front of me, trying to stitch and there's a fur ball on my fabric, go to move my chair (seldom) and a tail is behind me! Nice to be loved by jeez let me sew!!!!!

by tokkie 30 Jan 2008

I experience the same problem. It is as if the down loading is much more addictive that the sewing itself. You think there is something wrong with us? RIKA SMITH

That's why I'm here instead of at the sewing machine which was my goal today. I look at the designs and think that's so cute, surely I can use that sometime! Can't you all just picture Marji's cartoon idea.

Downloading addiction? Is that why smoke is coming out of my CD drive? Ha ha ha ha. I like Mops idea of living forever just to sew out the designs. I'm thinking of a cartoon, Grim Reaper trying to pull me by the leg, I'm saying, "no, no, just one more design..." as I clutch either my sewing machine or my computer or both, LOL. Have fun, Raels, either downloading or stitching. Marji

That's so true. Now someone just has to come up with the deisgn for us to stitch.

I think most of just have to live forever to stitch out everything we downloaded. I am glad the Project pages are giving more creative ideas then the obvious, like towels and T shirts, not that they do not make nice presents, but I like something spectacular for a change now and again and I love being inspired.

Mops, do you quilt? I'm really inspired by some of the flower designs especially for quilting, gonna try that soon. M

mops by mops 30 Jan 2008

Yes, I do. Have made quite a few babyquilts from my trial stitch outs and with a new grandchild on the way I´´ll make another one soon. But what I really want to do is make a flowery one with Cute´s quiltdesigns, this time for myself.

marjialexa by marjialexa 30 Jan 2008

Yes, her quilt flowers are awecome! They almost beg to be stitched out on dupioni silk, which I can't afford just now. We do need to do for ourselves, too, don't we. Sometimes I forget that, people like the stuff so much. Did you ever do a real hat (not baseball cap) with designs? Those flowers might be cool on that, too. M
