Almost too nice to use as burp rags lol. Very nice. Well appreciated gifts I'm sure. *4U
Nice, these burp cloths are the in thing now days babies everywhere are using them as they are so simple to make and we can embellish them any way we want to. A flower for you.
Incredible Idea! I work at a hospital and someone is almost always pregnant. I'll be making some of these. Thanks!
Mops, Burp cloths go across you shoulder to protect your clothing, etc when you burp the baby. Good for just wiping baby, too. I can't imagine the quarter square? What a big, little world we live in.
My mum used the quarter square when I was a child. And even now you can buy them ready made (although I made some for my daughter out of an oldfashioned cloth diaper - much cheaper). They are of course single layer and therefor much thinner than your burp cloths and when I burped one of my grandchildren I used a towel over my shoulder. But this is a great idea and I'll make a few for my new grandchild due beginning of April. So thank you all for the information and flowers for you.
if you would like some color cloths I use flannel. 1 yard of flannel makes 3 burp cloths, I fold the yard of flannel into 3rds and cut, then fold them in half and embroidery on the bottom, then stitch the square closed it measures 43 inches long and 16 inches across, I put the embroidery on first that way it is between the layers and it could be turned over if necessary.
I had never heard of burp cloths, let alone knowing what they looked like. Here (the Netherlands) we use small squares , quarter of a diaper, but this looks nice. Thanks for giving me an idea.
mops, this is quite the thing over here now. We can get a dozen of the prefolded style diaper very reasonably priced. Once we add the personalization or designs they are very cute. Good luck to you.
I am from Denmark. When my children were small (5-10 years ago), I used a lot of those Burps. I made them in flannel put embroidery on and used them for putting under baby when changing dippers, so the baby shoulden't touch whatever was underneath. I used them for hanging over the baby pram to protect from the sun. I used them for hanging down the window in the car to protect from the sun (they worked much more effecient than the sunshield I could buy). And I always double washed them at 60 degr. C.
