I wanted to share a picture of the valentines I made for my 10 year daughter's classmates and teachers. I only have a 4 x 4 hoop so finding designs to fit was somewhat of a challenge. Some of the designs are freebies and some are purchased. They are stitched on heavy cut away stabilizer and backed with another piece in the final step; we are hoping they get used as bookmarks. Gives a whole new meaning to "homemade valentines", don't you think? Your site is great... keep up the good work

I wonder whether she'll read this. The last time she posted anything was in March 2008.

Probably not, Martine and I didn't notice how old it was ...

Thank you for this great idea. At birthdays in our school all the children bring an self-decorated envelope with a coin (10 kr) to avoid creating a problem for anyone finding gifts or making it to expensive for everyone to join. And it works the children love decorating and the really appreciate the drawings that they get. (Sort of Valentine I guess, we don't use Valentines.) But a card with a strap to fasten the coins, that would be nice.

Thanks for your comment. Most mothers around here don't do any sort of craft, so they should like them.

Here is a flower for you - great job - I hope the kids do enjoy them - but more than anything - I hope that your daughter will enjoy giving them - it is all about that - you have made her feel special and this will be a long treasured memory for you both.

Thank you, I'm sure the kids will enjoy them as much as I did making them.

What a great idea! I am with you, and hope that they use them for bookmarks. I have a piece of stabilizer that I have been using for bookmark - now you have inspired me to embroider one for me - and maybe even one for my husband. Great idea.
