Thanx Cuties! I have learned a lot of interesting things here at Cute!!! Keep up the good work. Even old persons can learn new things!!! hahaha! Hugs, Judy
this is just too funny....never heard of this.....of course in the South we have other traditions....but not a pickle one.......
When I logged in I saw the C and thought how odd. But thanks to the informed Cuties I now know. * for all
Funny never thought of hanging a pickle in the christmas-tree (not even while I was pregnant ;o)
We decorate our tree in one or two weeks before christmas and I don't think that it brings a nice smell to my livingroom; prefer the candy-canes *lol*
Greetings, Bettina
The Legend of the Chritsmas Pickle:
When decorating the Christmas Tree it it traditional to hang the Christmas Pickle last, hidden amongst the branches. The 1st child on Christmas Day to find the Christmas Pickle receives a special blessing for the year and an extra package.
This is a great tradition to share with your family for years.
Interesting about Andersonville prison. There is a museum there now and I have always wanted to visit it. How many of you have visited Gettysburg, Va. It is one of the most moving emotional experiences ever. Kay
I agree with you. It's an amazing place. When you see the battlefield, you wonder how anyone survived that wide expanse of open land.
