I understood that Wal Mart was for USA made goods & only sold other country goods if they could not be made in the USA. I suppose that went out the door with Progress. As we are progressing backwards.
That was Sam Walton's choice. You know Sam is no longer on this earth and the relatives are running the company. So guess what happened to that idea.
With all the government restrictions they put on manufacturers here in the USA everything is moving out. It's a TERRIBLE shame. Hate to get political here but with less governemt we'd be much better off. Good luck
This is why I am holding onto my GM old machine. When everything else fails...that baby SEWS! ;D *2U
It is sad isn't it.....we had all kinds of machines and they were all rather heavy duty....now they are all plastic and the are always breaking or snapping, or shifting something.....or completely breaking down....but you are right....it doesn't make sense....just like a Wal-Mart employee told me...."they are getting rid of all the fabric and bringing in all these machines....what do they expect us to sew on the cardboard boxes"....I just stood there and laughed.....she is so RIGHT....
I guess they are saying we will sell machines and your on your own finding fabric...I L*VE www.fabric.com...FIESTA ANYHOW ;D *2U
I don't think so. They cost more, and the manufacturer's pocket the difference. Since all the manufacturing jobs have gone in the US, I wonder who they think they will sell to when there are no good paying jobs for people to afford their products outsourced to China.
Bev the only one I found was an industrial machine
I think all things are made now either in China or Japan or Korea. I live in Australia and none are made here as far as I know. Bring back the old days. Cheers.
A lot of machines if you touch them to hard, you can feel them bending...FIESTA ANYHOW ;D *2U
