Yes, I can see it all and I think you did a beautiful job! It is so cute! Well done!!!***
These little dresses are just adorable! We chose a male child from Haiti at church to sponser and give him a happy and hopeful Christmas. These children we chose from another country have a tremendous amount of needs in toys, food, learning projects, clothes, and this will not be just a Christmas thing. We also chose a junior size pre-teen from our area to give Christmas gifts to. Some of the children asked for all kinds of electronic gadgets but the one we chose, needed clothes, shoes, and not asked for special little girly things. Some just asked for an assortment of toys and normal things. I have alot of jewelry makings left from my craft store and my GGD, 6 gooing on 13, loves to search through my crsft items and makes some very pretty jewelry. I also thought I might get the beads, jewelry cord, closures, and the assorted pendants for her to play with. A pre-teen can come up with alot of great ideas when it comes to jewelry. I have some small bags that would be about the right size for her to decorate also. The bags include some small purses, totes, back packs and small make-up type bags. I do not remember her 1st name and my son has the info but her last name was Dewberry. I can embroider her initials on a few of the bags and put some girly things on a shirt or 2 for her. I have a ton of things just sitting in my craft room that was in my craft store "for sale". I am glad we got a girls name on the local Christmas goodies list. The boys will be non perishable foods, tooth brushes, toothpaste, some underclothes, learning games, soap, towels, bath cloths, shampoo, and personal items. I did not have time after church to go through the package of items. It was snowing and c-o-l-d and I wanted to get home before it got nasty. I am still riding in my son's junk truck that drinks gas like a baby drinks milk. I did not want to loose any time getting home. I was trying not to waste gas because I did not have much and it was too cold to get out and pump gas! I went out this morning with no jacket and it started to snow and dropped about 15 to 20 degrees while we were at church. The wind chill factor was making it seem worse than it was. To get back to the point, these darling little dresses would be wonderful to send to Haiti for the girls! I will have to check out the pattern a bit closer. Our 3 sister Churches took up donations and then donated almost all of the offerings from the churches for several months and send a whole crew to Haiti to dig wells to supply them with frsh water. This has been one of the major problems since the earthquake. Our members that went to Haiti furnished and equiped several wells enough to furnish clean water to thousands of people without fresh water of any kind. There is a great need of all kinds of personal items for thousands of people. They have very little of anything left!
Our church took up money to send to the orphanage that the denomenation sponsers for Haiti. The missionaries there are providing what the children need, all boys...9 of them to be exact and not one single girl in the group. But these dresses are quick and easy and depending on the length, not much fabric. You can also use old pillowcases and add trim to it. (hence the name)... They are fun to do... Thanks for sharing your story and idea...
Oh that is so cute Terre - your are a genius love Chris
