I am looking for clipart of a lady lawn bowling, I want to digitize it so it needs to be from a site that allows this in its terms and conditions. Has anyone come across anything like this?

Hi, When I'm looking for clipart for digitizing, I go to some googled sites for "public domain" clipart. Be careful that you are still within the public domain site, or domain free site when you find the image you want. Also, you can go to Google images to search. I figure if I find the same image in 3 or more different sites, there is probably no owner of the image. You just want to be very careful to not steal an image. Sometimes I start with an image and by the time I finish it looks absolutely NOTHING like the original idea. It that is the case, I think you are safe then to share/sell your digitized work. You need to be very careful, as you don't want to be sued for stealing anyone's copyrighted work. Hope that helps! Jan

Thanks Jan, I do tend to try to stick to the sites that allow embroidery digitizing in there terms and conditions, and I really don't mind paying for them. I would worry if I found something in google images in case it was copyrighted. Thank you for your answer.

I don't think she is looking to share the clipart. she is looking to digitize the clipart for her business. Is that legal? Isn't that what you do when purchasing from places like clipartropolis and other places that sell their clip art?

Thank you Ricky, I was asking for a website that I could purchase it from. I am fully aware of the legalities of using clipart for digitizing.

Sorry Alice. I thought you wanted to know if someone had any clipart that they could pass on to you.
keeponsewing, I am fully aware that Alice wanted it to digitise for her business. The way she phrased it gives one the impression she wanted to know if someone had any art work they could pass on to her. She should have asked for a link to a website.
And no, keeponsewing, that is not what we do when we purchase from clipartopolis or any other site. We do not share, whether it be purchased or free.

Ricky I think you are having some problems understanding what people mean, I am sure keeponsewing is referring to purchasing the clpart for the purpose of digitizing it, not sharing it. I am sorry if my question was not clear enough for you. I will try to be more clear in the future.
