I find it very strange that there is not an upgrade or something .I have to say here, that I am not computer literate . She is . Janome [ in her state ] told her that she may as well throw it out , that its out of date . Getting new designs is her problem she says ,due to the 98 version . Can anyone please help . i have a old Janome 5700 and i use customizer 2000 with it and it works great with windows 7. Tell her not to throw it out. This is what i had to do to use mine.
I had to buy a new cord adapter that converted my serial cord to a usb and that way i could plug into the computer and get my designs. They sell them at any computer shop. After i bought the new cord adapter you have to slow down the port speed because its too high for the old program. I too called Janome head office and they had no good infromation for me but to say well it's old and there is nothing we can do. Well i found a way and then called them back to say , yes there is and told them what i did and the lady on the phone was shocked...hehehe she said she would pass on the information to others.
SO you have to find someone who knows about computers and how to get into where you set the usb speeds up and slow it down.
