have sent designs to floppy via embird? Is it safe to do that I did it on saturday as my 3D software was playing up and would write to floppy. When I put the embird floppy in my designer 1 it said this is not supported by husqvarna something about malfunction. So please if anyone else had done this is it safe...

Sorry I did not notice your question earlier.

I have a Designer1 that uses floppies, 3D Pro and Embird.
I know the Designer1 tells you the floppy is not supported by Husqvarna, but it does not give any trouble - I've tried it when I digitised in Embird and did not want to complicate things starting up 3D as well only to go to the reader/writer. I just send it to a disk from Embird Manager and it works all right for me.

Thanks so much my 3D software had a problem writing to floppy so I took it to embird and it worked fine, except it said not supported...so I was a bit worried about using the embird written floppy thank you for explaining...I was writing the santas from DBC but must have downloaded the wrong format as I have now changed the format to jef and that works with 3D....somebody said 3d does not support new PES format which I had downloaded(have no idea why)...anyway Ichanged it to jef and all good now with 3D. I only have basic embird but looking at the font engine and the digitising module...do you think they are worth the money...I was thinking about upgrading to 4D but embird seems to be a better option....ideas would be appreciated..Hugs Sally

I did not upgrade to 4D as buying Embird (Basic, Iconiser and Studio + FontEngine) was so much cheaper than upgrading. Every design I uploaded the last 2 years was digitised in Embird and I love the ease of making connection stitches, which I could only do in StitchEditor and not directly in the Digitising module in 3D.

3D does not support newer versions of pes (or any other software's updates). They just stopped giving free updates once 4D was there.

Now that I bought the Ruby I'm thinking of buying the 5D and giving the the 3D Pro suite to my daughter - she'll get my Designer1 as soon as either I go to Norway or she's coming here - and have the software will be great for her. 5D is said to be a great improvement on 4D, but it is sooo expensive.

I have not used the floopy Designer I for some time, but when you put to a floppy, you need to make sure that the design is in VIP for the system to read it. I have never used embrid, so not certain of it. I have 4D pro - if you want to send me something in private mail, I will see if I can assist you.
