This is my first attempt to embroider a towel. It drove me nuts trying to hoop the towel and in the end I just hooped the bottom stabiliser and pinned the towel and top stabiliser to that! It seems to have worked OK. I chose the design because my friend is a Marine Biologist who works at a sea turtle sanctuary in Greece, and I also made her a matching birthday card with an embroidered centre.

Nice design and very appropriate for a marine biologist. And really good idea to match the card with the present.

You did such a good job. When I embroider towels I use Sticky back adhesive & put water soluable stabilizer on the top, so I don't have to hoop the towel only the sticky back . Hope this helps but yours looks perfect. .Heres a flower for your hard work.

You are going to knock her socks off! That is a lovely, thoughtful gift! Good solution to thick problem and I can tell you pinned, pinned, pinned. And that's what makes it work!

A lovely combination. I think it will be greatly appreciated. Thick towels are a pain to hoop and I normally do the same as you did, but I use temporary glue spray to fix the towel to the stabilizer. Flower for you.
