Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions.Things You'll Need:
Program with .jef capability
ATA PC card
Janome 300e sewing machine
1.1
Format your memory card, also called a SD flash card, by inserting it into the sewing machine. Select an ATA PC card or a Compact Flash with Type II Adapter. Push the card into the slot in the right side of the sewing machine. The machine will format the card automatically, if it is not already formatted. The card is now ready to use for designs.
2.2
Save your design as a JEF file, which is the only file type the Janome 300e can read. To save an image in this format, use a program that can convert files. Search online or contact the sewing machine retailer, if you do not have a program already. To change the file format, open the image of your design in the program. Follow the program's instructions for saving the design as a .jef file. This process usually is completed through the "Save As" option under the word "File" from the top left of the program.
3.3
Transfer the .jef file to the Embf5 directory on the memory card. If your computer does not have a place to insert your memory card, use an external driver that you can plug in to it. Once the memory card is connected to your computer and you can access it, transfer designs by copying them into the folder labeled "Embf5." This location is the only place the sewing machine looks for designs. Copy the designs into this folder on the memory card.
4.4
Insert the memory card in the sewing machine and select the image. The Janome 300e will read the Embf5 directory and display your designs. Select the image you want to work with on the machine's LCD screen and begin sewing

Beautifully stated.
Have your flashdrive formatted in your Janome.... then, when transferring your files to your flashdrive, make certain you are transferring .jef file. Others will not show up, when you put the card back into your Janome.
I too have a Janome and use customizer. Sorry i can't help you with Buzz.
Welocme to cute

I have a Janome and I also use Buzz Explore but you do need to have Janome digitizer or customizer to make the program work. I use the customizer. Talk to your dealer. They should have informed you of this. Welcome to Cute.
I have the customizer and really like it....it also allows you to put words with your designs.....I have the Jamone 350E.....for converting designs I use Pulse Ambassodor which is a free program....I hope this helps......I just noticed your new so Welcome, I'm sure you will enjoy this site.....Janet
As mpo says you should have a janome program either customizer or digitizer to put designs on your card in a way that your machine will read.
I have a 10001 - I assume the 300E works the same way. I use customizer and prefer to do so, but at a push I can put the card into the sewing machine and it will format it for me, I can then put the card into my computer and drag and drop my jef files into the EmbF folders. It does work but you have to work within the paramaters for your machine.
Remember that while you can fit more than I think 100 files in each folder the sewing machine will only read 100 files. Also if the files are too big for the hoop they will error. Also you must use the file type your machine reads, mine is .jef yours might be .sew (I wondered one day why it wouldn't read a design and I had put a .pes on the card)
You will need Customizer or Janome Digitizer Junior.
Your dealer should have shown you how to do it.
Welcome to Cute. I dont have a Janome machine so I will leave answering the question to someone who does
