I also have D1 with floppy and software 3D when you write to floppy it will change to SHV which is what the machine reads.
I have a D1 with a floppy. I use Embird and I can write any format to the floppy disk as it changes it to SHV, which is what the D1 reads.
HUS will work and if you have 4D or 5D then HUS, VIP and VP3 will all work. I have 4D Extra and I can convert almost all formats to these. D1 floppy will accept any of these formats.
I should have added when you save to floppy from disc manager it will be in SHV format which as others have said is what D1 reads.
I have save to disk from 4d and I still can't get it to read it. how do I save to SHV?????
The strange thing about the Designer I is you have to have the software to convert it to their format and if you don't have that - it will not work on the machine - do you have 3D, 4d or 5D software?
