Well, to tell the truth, I did do it all at once. It was when my son was still small, and his Gramma agreed to watch him. I used her DSL connection and just opened multiple Internet Explorer windows and had each window downloading a different design. It took a few hours, but I think I got them all. =] I could never have done it with the rinky-dink dial-up connection I am stuck with at the moment. =[
dont forget to download your color charts too, I cut and paste them into a sepreate word document then put it in the file with the designs..copy them out whey you do the designs.. one at a time!!
Thank you all for your replies, and an AZ flower to you all! I am doing my downloading page by page, then sorting later, except for the alphas. I made folders for each set, and save to that as I come to them. They are all so lovely, I just want to SEW! By from AZ
As the others said it's a question of patience and perseverance, but worth it. I bought my membership in November and have not downloaded half of the designs. I picked them not page for page, but sorted them: strawberries first (to make s.t. for my daughter-i-l), them bears and hedgehogs. Not a really smart thing to do maybe, nut the tags did help. Enjoy downloading and stitching them all out. Flower for you.
Hi gltrjudy, WELCOME!! This is such a great group, I'm sure you will be hooked, in a short time, as many of us already are. I download some designs, then copy them I than have them to look at so I don't repeat, and waste my time. I have been just doing a few at a time. Fowers for all.
Judy, I felt like with my software, it was easier to have the designs emailed to me. (That is one of your choices) Then I could just sit and click them one after another. Also, if you don't *rename* you will not download twice the same design. I made a folder and named it cute embroidery so that I know where the design comes from and also another guarantee to not duplicate. After the initial download, I just save into a folder on my desktop until I have archived it in my design folder. Unfortunately, you are correct. That would take too much bandwidth to download all of them at once and your embroidery machine might pick up it's skirt tail and vamoose! hahaha have fun! ;)
Hi Jrob and ruthie, thank you both for replies. I don't like to post email, but I wanted to know exactly HOW to do this before I start, due to time restrictions, here, and hoped for an orderly method to do. Flowers for each of you, Judy
Judy, it's just as easy to reply to this question here, also it's not a good idea to put your email address in full view for spammers and the like to see, they often plague you with junk mail! Now to answer your question, unfortunately there's no quick way to download all at once. It doesn't matter whether you start at the end and work forward, or start at the beginning and work back, but if you don't complete all designs in one sitting, make a very good note of the last design you downloaded i.e. page number *and* design number, you could even copy the picture. The reason for this is that as new designs are added, the last design on each page goes to the top of the previous page. Now ... the most important thing to do when downloading is to make yourself a cuppa, grab a biscuit or two, play your favorite music, and enjoy planning what you're going to stitch all those designs onto. Here's a flower to keep you going, and have fun downloading.
