Wonderful job, Terre. I know she will treasure it.
Carol
Thank you Carol. How have you been? I've not seen you around in a few days. :)
This is very thoughtful of you and a very beautiful gift to your pastor's wife. May God bless you!
Thank you. I've been meaning to ask you... Do your grandchildren call you nonni? One set calls me noni too. (just left out the one "n". :)
Beautiful, beautiful! I know she was so pleased!! What a Merry Christmas!!
I also have a ministers wife as my daughter. I know she will love this.
What a privilege to be part of a family who sacrifices daily for others.
I know she will love it. I would like to make something like this for the Christian book store that I stitch for, but not one would buy it at the price I would need to compensate my time. We can't compete with China.
Kat, this is very true, I tried to think how much time and effort and fabric I put into this, fabric didn't cost much, but the time to embroider it and put it together did. :)
Your time IS your most valuable asset! Once it is gone, you can not get it back or replace it! The quilt is a very thoughful and nice gift for thr pastor's wife! I am sure she will appreciate it! Once you get my age, you will realize just how important time really is! I will be 64 12/26 and it seems like just yesterday whe I was bringing my 44 yr old son(12/16/66) home from the hospital. Time has not passed so fast until the last 7 or 8 yrs and I have no idea where it went to! I got old and crippled over night! Crippling arthritis is a real killer of alot of things. I have been fighting it for 18+ yrs but only did it really become deadly 7 yrs ago. When I had the surgery on my legs, I learned just how precious life was!!!! I am slow, cranky sometimes, and never want to go anywhere or do anything. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year(all 2011)! Hugs, Linda
Linda, I'm not too far behind you hehehe... I was diagnosed at 21 with RA and was told I'd be wheelchaired by the time I'm 60. That is only 1 1/2 yrs away, and I've had 7 knee surgeries and now 2 good knees (finally), but the RA is in my hands and back and it is very painful as you know...Embroidery keeps me going and also the sewing. I've started doing yoga exercises for my fingers wrist and neck and shoulders to help keep them limber. Hugs, Terre.... PS and yes it does make you cranky. hehehhe...
I have one of these planned for a friend, as well, and I really like the flower and scroll design. Where did it come from? Very nice gift. Also like your color choices! Thanks for the inspiration. I really need to get mine done!! Merry Christmas!!
Be sure to share when you complete it. I don't remember where the flower and scroll designs came from, I'm thinking maybe from my machine, but I could be wrong.
oh my Tere i waS ALWAYS GOING TO MAKE ONE OF THESE BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT:):)LOVELY JOB !!!CAROLYN
Thank you my friend... It took a while because I had other things to do and I kept changing my mind too. hehehe
Perfect gift, she will feel blessed to receive it
This is beautiful and will certainly be loved by your pastor's wife.
This is beautiful and you did a great job. Love the colors. I am sure the pastors wife will love it too. Flowers for you and everyone.
PRAISE THE LORD!!! I am BLESSED that you have used the Bible texts from sewbird.net.com!!! This is exactly how I envisioned their use. I'm stitching up quite a few myself for Christmas gifts for friends here in Florida and friends back home in Michigan.
I'm SO glad I clicked on this part of Cuties... haven't been here before.
I hope your Christmas is filled with Abundant Blessings!
Your friend,
Paula a.k.a. Sewbird, Michsnowbird
Paula, Thank you sew much for providing your special "gift". My pastors wife loved it... Glad you got to see it. I'm might go back and d/l the picture if you have a place. :) Blessings, Terre
Terre, this is lovely and I do like your choice here - it is stunning and your pastor's wife will surely treasure it. *4U
She loved it! And cried also. She is a special person and I enjoy her friendship.
BTW, there are two 2" pieces of fabric that is attached so you can use a dowel to hang it on.
