can,t seem to get it in vic australia. can anyone help.
I can help but not with the soap! I have horrible legs cramps at night and my Dr suggested that I try eating dill pickles. I love them but not in the middle of the night so I started drinking the juice which is mostly seasoned vinegar and it does work. Nothing keeps me from having the cramps but the vinegar from the pickle jar does work. I get the kosher dill strips and use the pickles in my salads but drink the juice from the jar beside the bed. I buy the small jars so the pickles will not dry out before I can use them. Once you take them out of the jar of juice, they do dry out fairly fast.
I wonder if anybody can tell me if this soap is available in South Africa. Up to now I've never seen it. Marthie hoe lyk dit, ken jy dit miskien?
Thanks for the tip anyhow.
Please, if you find this soap in one of the shops in SA, tell me. I am staying in Somerset West in the Western Cape and I have never came across this particular soap!
Thank you! I will definitely try this tonight! I get cramps, but also have the restless leg thing. Sometimes it keeps me awake all night! I have tried the bananas...not really sure if it worked. We do not always have them.Always have soap though! LOL!
Merry Christmas,and thanks again.
Hugs, Nadyne
I needed it this last night!! I drink some Tonic Water and it helps lots, Thanks for the tip!*****
Amazing, thank you for the tip, hubby suffers often. Can als not sleep on nylon sheets as we had in the olden days. Will give this a quick try.thanks again, sooooooo glad I saw this!!
My doctor told me about this - she said any type of soap seems to work - it was discussed at a conference she went to and said patients just swear by it. I have a bar of unscented Dove in my bed - so far no cramps (but only been a couple of weeks and that may just be that I have not had any spells). She said to change out the soap every three or four months.
When I was pregnant Ialso used to get cramps in my legs,I got the tip of just lifting my toes up. It seemed to help a bit. But fortunatly it is over now. Thanks for the tip.
Restless Legs Syndrome is what the doctor called what my mom had. She was given medicine but after I told her about the soap she gave it a try and after she hurt her toe on the soap that was the end of the soap. lol
LenaMae, I have heard that before only with Ivory soap and others have said it worked for them I just keep forgetting about it..
I, too, have heard of this. Funny how I stumbled on it...tho. We clean 46 Luxury living/Independent apartments each week. Many of the residents have us change thier bed linens. We kept finding bars of soap between the sheets and wondered why! Finally, one of the residents clued us in to the mystery! Jim and I had a good laugh about this for a long time! :)
well if I didn't learn something new today....never heard of this.....but my hubby and I eat a banana a day and we are in our 60's and no cramps in our legs...but will file this info away for a later day....
Our minds work in mysterious ways to help our bodies heal; so if we believe, often it works. But, medically, leg cramps, as we get older, is, generally, caused by low potassium in our bodies. Low potassium can also cause the heart to malfunction, so one is wise to have a blood test to evaluate potassium level. Foods/fruits with high potassium content may help, but a potassium supplement by prescription may be the best to feel good and not have leg cramps.
Angel
I've never heard of this but I will tell my daughter & see how it works. Thanks. Arlene
I've also heard this works. Thankfully I don't have leg cramps (yet). I've also heard it's a lack of potassium so try eating bananas.
Thanx for the information!!! I will try it as soon as I get to a store! Hugs, Judy
one of the cutes any soap will work will try another kind and see.I have restless leg and the soap stped that also
Oh wow, good to know that one too, my grandson has restless legs too, will have to get a bunch.Thanks.
I personally thought it was a silly idea, but my mother has a cake of soap in her bed and it works for her! Not so silly after all, it seems to work for a lot of people.
i thought this was crazy until I tried it and it worked! I used Dial brand bar soap.
Who says we only learn about sewing on here? Thanks for that thoughtful tip!
Is Irish Spring soap a particular soap? I have never heard of that : irish is "irlandais" and spring is "printemps" It is a good tip if it works.
Make sure you also check you are not hypothyroid. I had cramps in my legs for years and then one of the doctors told me it was because I was hypothyroid.
Worth a try . At least I'll have a bar of soap if it doesn't. Thanks.
My Dad swears by this but a friend tried it and said it only worked for a couple of weeks. Well worth the cost of a bar of soap and if it doesn't work you can use it to bathe!
I tried this and it did seem to work. Hugs, Mary
thanks Mary I was thrilled that I had no cramps I am going to try a uncented kind
Cutting back (or eliminating) caffine from your diet will do the same! And, immediately, I am told. I am too addicted to give up my diet coke, so I am glad I don't suffer this ailment.
Linda
Oh my Linda you should look up coke and see what it does to you.My sister drank lots of diet coke and she got kidney stones from drinking it so much.
Where do you get the soap? I have suffered from cramps all my life - I am pretty scared of drinking too much water as it aggravates it. The best solution so far is to take a couple of PhosMag tables and STAND UP! Lying down won't allow the cramp to be relieved.
Don't know what they have in S.Africa but in the US it is in most all stores.
I got mine at a dollar store walmart has it also
I grew up with leg cramps wish I had known it for years I have been useing it a long time maybe he has let his slipp to far down and it is off the bed when I go to bed I find mine so I know wher it is.
I have never heard of this. Fortunately this is 1 thing I don't have (at this time) so it is something to keep in mind. Thanks
it is somethig I wold remember and let my friends know it works well for me I get mine sometimes and hold it between my feet I love it I do not have to take pain pills for it any more.
