I have been remiss at making photos. Once they are gone it is hard to remember how lovely they were. I made a really sweet baby quilt for my niece and forgot to photograph it. I keep thinking I will get one from her...too late? hope not.
FLOWER FOR U! I take my photos as soon as I finish my project..that way It doesnt get away from me..lol
I always take a picture, but it never thought to date it or write down any of the information. Thanks for a great idea. Flowers for everyone. LOL
I write down where the fabric came from, how much I used, and a breif description of why I made it and for whom..date it and name it.. lol
Ok - how organized is that - I really have a lot to learn, and picking up ideas every day.!
Wonderful idea, I did that that about 20 years ago when Cabbage Patch dolls were big. I made outfits for them and sold at a consignment shop. Was fun and time consuming. But embroidery is mostly all gifts for friends and family. think I have like two for myself. OH YEh, flowers to all.
A very good suggestion - I did not start taking pictures of my projects until recently. Now I wish that I had pictures of some of them. I bet we all start doing that now. I have even set a folder up in my computer and labeled it "Projects" so that I know where they are, and believe it or not, that was only about a week ago. Happy stitches to you all.
i have the same folder on my desktop but i have done so many projects its hard to keep track..i have a photo album too..
flower for you!!
Just in case you don't see my added comment with another question. A great idea. I just recently started doing this. I have some projects that I wish I had a visual to help with other ideas. My mind is getting too scattered to remember, especically with all of the ideas accumulated on this site.
Good idea lr, I always do that, I take digital photos and keep them on my computer (yes, I do regular backups of them). At the bottom of the photo I add a white border for the info. On this part I type the name of the design, where I got the design from, colors used, who it was for, as well as any other info I can think of. It only takes a few minutes to do and I've found it to be absolutely invaluable on numerous occasions, not to mention that it's fun just to look back on past projects, sometimes I look back and think, wow, I'd forgotten that I'd made that!!! A flower for you and have a terrific day.
Ruthie, You are just to organized or you aren't stitching enough.Being organized is wonderful though and put all that info there to!!! WOW
Trust me tmbache, while one thing is stitching, I'm busy doing other *stuff* - like organising, planning etc. The beauty of an embroidery machine is that we can do something else while it stitches - all the better to do some organising! Also I find that if I do the photos and info straight away, it's a lot easier - I have a great *forgettery* - if I don't do it straight away, I forget!!!
I try to do that, but often I'm so excited it's finished that I give it away asap and forget all about taking a picture until it's too late.. Hope you are more organised!
Good idea. Do you do that? And do you always remember?
Yes, I keep a computer camera right on my sewing table..I even sometimes take pictures of steps..I have a kodak and kodak picture file..I can group the photos all on one page and put them in my scrap book..I do take photos of every single project because its all I will have once I give the project away..and if I didnt how could I share them with U??? lol
flower for you!!
sand, I do it with all my project and have a very nice album of them all. It is great to show others - who can just flip through the pictures and see what they see. Hehehe! *4U
