I also have been doing all this will my many folders. Now I need to back them up,so I do not lose all my hard work. I have the CD's just need to find out how to do this. Fowers for all.
Dlmds, do you know which drive is assigned to your CD burner? If so, you should be able to open that drive folder from "my computer" and then "drag and drop" the files you want to burn into the folder. If you hold down your control key (on the keyboard) while you drag the files, it will make a copy of them in the new location rather than moving them from where you had them saved originally. There should be an option (probably under FILES) to burn the files to a CD. If you are lucky, it will offer that option on the top of the sidebar of the folder. Make sure you have a blank writable CD in the drive, and that there aren't fingerprints on the data side of the disk (that has caused me more than one error message!) before you choose to burn the CD. Feel free to ask questions if you have any problems with backing up your hard work onto CDs. someone is sure to be able to give you answers.
I started out using a folder for each site and then subfolders for the designs. However, more recently I have folders for different type of designs such as Alphabets, Animals, Children, RW and etc with sub folders in those. Ex- Alphabet would find folders for Carnival font, Berry font and etc. I find I can find designs again more easily. Using the first method I might have alphabets in a lot of site folders and need to search each one.
Great idea, Judy! I did that when I first started downloading from all sites, not just Cute, and it makes sorting things automatic. Just download it into the folder it belongs to, and that way you can make your own 'tags' to find things. I do the same with zip files, saves a lot of time instead of moving things around from place to place. Thanks for thinking to post the tip, and welcome to you, you'll have fun in this friend-filled place! Marji
Thanks for the idea Judy, hope you're still having fun downloading.
Great idea I,m going back and doing that to a couple of different sites I do alot with. A flower for you info and great tip.
