Yes, what a beautiful present! It is lovely. What type of fabric did you use? Is it a slip cover or actually stitched onto the cover. I think it is a great idea! I am also into scrapbooking and was wondering what to do for the front of an Album I am putting together for my daughter's 40th birthday in August. I think I will give this a try!
It's just an ordinary poly-cotton mix : I measure the cover - front, back and spine - and allow a LOT extra (I have learnt by my mistakes! :-) ) then embroider the design in the middle of the front section, using a piece of iron-on middleweight stabiliser the same size (so much bigger than the actual embroidery design.) When the embroidery is finished, it is used to cover the book, stretched tight and glued into place, making sure the design is centred before mitring the corners and glueing the overlapped edges and tucking the fabric at the top and bottom of the spine in on itself before completing sticking the back cover in place. I then tidy the inside of the covers up by sticking a piece of paper cut to size (a fraction smaller then the book covers) to conceal the raw edges - this particular album I made the linings match the design by printing the "baby" as an all-over pattern!
(I just re-read this and it sounds a bit confused, I hope you understand what I mean!)
Fabulous, Thank you so much. I could understand it quite well. I will definitely try this out. Sorry I can't leave another flower.
What a beautiful present! Your mother must be proud having you! Flower for you.
Your mom will be pleased to put this out! Great picture by the way, what a little beauty! ;)
