Free Standing Lace, meaning no fabric is needed to hold it all together after the stabilizer is washed out.

Good question, especially for others who are new to embroidery. Some more are WSS for water soluble stabilizer, ttt for 'to the top'. Keep asking questions. It's the best way to learn.

ITH means : in the hoop. For instance the design of Mops see link is a design of a cute doll. You can make te complete doll in the hoop of your machine. At this project you can read the way it has to be done,So take a look.

Corinne, Once you discover how to do In the Hoop (ITH), you find yourself looking for more! hehehe.... It is where everything is done in the hoop (except your stuffing if you are making stuffed dolls etc..) So much fun... Just get some scrap fabric and try one of them for fun. I think you will find that you will like it as the rest of us do.:)

ITH just means: In The Hoop. A project that is made on your embroidery machine and finished in the hoop.
