Thank you, my friends, for your understanding, and thank you so much, Ruthie, for giving us a first-hand look at what you're going through. And again thanks to Pmue for correcting the website address, I am such a dunce when I'm tired! We had a drought here on the East side of the USA 25-odd years ago, and I remember living in the country, having to choose whether to wash dishes, take a shower or flush the toilet. Had to take close to the laundromat in town for months, because our well was so low. But Ruthie, I just can't imagine having to live like that for *eleven* years! I'd polish up my 'rain dance' and do it for you, but then it would probably rain here & my creek would flood again. Seriously, my prayers for you all down there. This may be a silly question, but doesn't your thread dry out too much & cause a lot of breaks? I noticed this winter with having to run the furnace so much & the humidity low, I'm getting more thread breakage than normal, which is frustrating (yeah, like that's a problem with what y'all are facing). Anyway, love & flowers to you all, and a big Thank You! Marji
I just can't image a water police roaming the streets to make sure nobodys using water they aren't suppose to. It gives me the shivers!!!I'll make a purchase and wish I could send you all some water, so you could wash your cars, water your lawns, flush your toilets with clean fresh water, and have all you want to drink of clean fresh water from Maine. The best there is!!!Hope everything gets better and we'll pray for rain for all you Aussia girls in the meantime a flower to you all.
ok, you got me! If both of you vouch for her, I will make a purchase. ;)
Actually, I don't know her jrob, but Marji does, and I have heard that her designs are good.
Well, I will let you know when a get a chance to stitch out. Was for a good cause anyway. ;)
Thanks for this Marji, I don't normally go for this kind of thing here either, but this is a different case altogether. As an Aussie, I can tell all you people that things are getting desperate here. We are now in our *eleventh* year of the drought. I'm in a city, so not quite as desperate as our country folks. Our local water reserve has less than 9% of water in it, normally it would be between 60 & 75% at this time of year, being on the tailend of summer. We save all our shower water (3-minute's only), washing machine, clean washing up water, and any other water that we can. The toilets are flushed using buckets of recycled water. We are not allowed to water gardens, hose paths, windows or wash cars (only headlight glass and windscreen for safety). The *only* time we would be allowed to use water outside the house is in an emergency i.e. if the house was on fire. And there's no cheating because the *water police* roam the streets day and night, and there's a hefty fine and possible jail term for law breakers! And all that's in a built up city. Our country people are finding it absolutely devastating, we see and hear stories like this on a daily basis, so folks, if you feel it in your heart, and you can afford it, please buy some of this lady's designs. Thanks Marji for caring, and thanks pmue for correcting the web address, love, hugs and flowers to you both.

For heaven's sake, thank you so much, I thought I had it right! It's a wonder I can remember my own name. Thank you so much for the correction!!!! Marji
Please, please, I hope nobody takes this as 'advertising', but I just had to do something! As our Aussie friends know, there is severe drought in portions of your country. The woman who owns the site I mentioned has a farm, where she rescues abused goats, other farm animals, birds, etc. I know her from one of my quilting sites. They are now so bad off they have to buy drinking water for themselves, let alone the animals. And feed prices have skyrocketed due to several bad harvests because of drought. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes because she had to sell an old rescued sow who would cuddle her feral kittens like babies, & she's pretty sure the pig will be slaughtered. Her rescued goats may be next to go, & she's really depressed. I'm just asking that if you do quilting, and would use any blackwork designs, that you give her site a look. There are no freebies there, but the designs are lovely, and if it's something you would buy anyway, it would be a way of helping someone out & still getting something in return. Again, I beg you, please don't take this as 'advertising', I wouldn't mention it, but her situation is just breaking my heart. And she does NOT know (nor would I like her to) that I'm doing this! If I had a way to send water & hay to Australia, I would, but this is the best I can do. I hope you will understand, and forgive me for this sort of 'intrusion' into our usual topics, but I think my friends in this forum from Oz will be able to appreciate the severity of the situation. Maybe they can explain it to you better than I. Thanks for your time & consideration. Marji
