My Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket! I thought that I was going to spend some of it on the font engine for Embird....but after looking at this a little closer, I'm wondering if all it really does, is what my 4D software does already? I currently convert true-type fonts in my 4D....but then I do need to combine these with any embird designs that I have digitized. I thought that the Font Engine might be helpful to eliminate this "combining" step....but after looking at it..and the price...I'm having second thoughts.

Is there anyone out there that might help "talk me into" or "talk me out-of" my desire to spend some Santa Cash on the Font Engine?

Thanks!!!!

I have had Font Engine since it was released and find I use it a fair bit - I also have 4 of Embirds Alphabets. Sounds to me like you are covered with your 4D but I can't be sure...someone else more knowledgeable will probably come by with their advice...Happy New Year !!!

for some reason, I can't give you a flower. I will try again...maybe there is a glitch. I just don't want someone to think that I did it intentionally! :)

Is there a helpful Viking dealer close by?One close to me spends tons to time with her customers explaining stuff. But the Bernina dealer does not.The Babylock dealer is also very nice and informative always tells me who has what on sale so I can save money.Just wait until you can find out more info before you spend the $$. I don't have anysoftware or embird so I can't tell you but some of the girls do.Stella

I'm afraid that my dealer would want to push all Viking software and not be too excited about Embird. I love Embird and found it more resonable than the Viking digitizing software (and probably easier, too...). My dongle was coming apart, and my dealer wanted me to look into the new 5D....which would have been nice, but pricey....so I just glued the dongle and solved that problem! Thanks for you help!

I have Embird with Font Engine but am not familiar with the Viking software. The Font Engine makes fonts out of ones you import, but I have found they take lots of work before you can stitch them out. If Viking software does it easier, invest your Santa Cash in something else!

Thanks so much for your answer. I don't seem to have trouble making fonts in 4D...and for some reason, I have been under the impression that Embird Font Engine had something else that I didn't have with 4D. Looking closer, I started to question that...glad I didn't just buy, but asked some questions first!
