I had to format the card for my camera too. But never had to RE format it! Yes, you will lose the pics on it, so load them onto the computer first!

Deanna, I my computer/card reader/whatever electronic contraption I am using will decide my SD card or USB is no longer valid. I have several card readers so I just try a different one. Sometimes I go back and try the same card reader and it will work. But DO try to save your pictures before you proceed because if you do reformat, you will definitely lose your pictures

Upload your pictures to your pc before you format or you will lose everything you have on that card. Didn't happen to me but did to a friend and she was sick as most of the pics she had on there were of a gs she hadn't seen in 6 years...all lost.

I had this once at that time it was the card reader of my pc who caused the trouble. like Sue suggested, save the pictures on pc or external drive, before continuing with the camera. In case the pictures are errased you still have them. Since my trouble I bought an external cardreader to place the pictures on the pc. It works for me. but the card I had used didn't work in my camera anymore. So the possibillity is present you indeed loose the pictures.if you don't save them first. good luck!

hehehe.... Dil, that was a funny slip of the English language. LOL...It is so interesting at the translations of certain words that mean one thing to one language and another thing to different language. I KNOW Deanna knew you didn't mean what was translated. But it was funny enough to keep me smiling. LOL...

I am still laughing. I know Deanna will laugh too.

This cracked me up - I just had this image of the camera on the side of the road in a compromising stance! LOL!!!!

Translation of the English language is certainly strange! Still giggling here! Love and blessings Chris

If I were you I would download all of the pictures from the memory card to your computer before you do anything else. It is a good idea not to rely on the SD card for storage.

Are you certain you're trying to look at what is in the correct drive letter? Mine did that recently, but I was looking at the wrong one. I have trouble remembering the letters assigned to each drive I use. Now I use a USB as well as the flash cards, I'm often confused!
