I love this little snowman and I enjoyed stitching him out as a napkin holder.
The thread I used is absolutely gorgeous for using on all things snow as it glistens. It is Madeira opalescent. The top photo was taken with the flash on and the bottom photo without flash, I was trying to capture the glisten of the thread.If you double click on the pic it should open up larger so you can get a closer look at this lovely thread.

I buy mine from Allstitch as they don't charge and arm and a leg to send to Australia. If you do buy it to use, a word of advice, loosen top tension 1 to 2 points, slow down machine and use 90/14 Metallic needle.
The thread is wound around a core and tends to break but the machine will keep stitching with the core thread that hasn't broken. I did all of the above before it stopped breaking.

This is what I was talking about on your project. It is truly a lovely thread, Supertwist 300, number is 983-300. I am going to make a set of snowflake napkin rings using this and some crystals, the ones that are AB (aurora Boreale). But I also liked the Platinum thread, photo's don't do it justice though.
