I've just finished making this card for my mother (it's Mothers' Day here in the UK tomorrow.) The mount for the embroidery is made from parchment, coloured, pierced and embossed, with a cut-out to show the embroidery.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments! (Flowers to all of you!) My mother loved it - she doesn't say much but I could tell by the expression on her face!

So cute! Love it! Here, in Portugal, Mother's Day will occur only in the first Sunday of May. I bet your mother will be very pleased with your card and is very proud of you. Flowers for both of you.

Absolutely stunning Dianne, top marks. I do pergamano so know how long it takes - ages, and don't your hands hurt afterwards! I haven't combined it with embroidery though - yet! Thanks for the info on where to find the design too. A very big well done to you, flowers and hugs.

It certaily is beautiful! I love embroidered cards, but have never tried. It certainly takes a long time with the embossing doesn't it. Your mother will love it.

This is georgeous - and how precious to give to your mother. I have purchased a couple card stock designs, but have lacked the courage to try, but now I see it framed your embroidery - but this is just beautiful.

Thank you. The mount actually took way longer to do than the embroidery! You can't really see the detail fully in the photo, the raised embossing doesn't show up, and all the little holes in the lacework had to be pierced, by hand, one at a time. (Yes there are quite a few mistakes, mostly holes in the wrong places, but I don't think my mother will mind - or notice!) I love the embroidery design, I got it as a freebie but I've traced the site it came from - Patti's Creative Studio http://www.pattistudio.com/ and she has beautiful designs at quite reasonable prtices so in think I will treat myself!
