I use VISTA and this is how I burn data to CD's or DVD'S - I open the folder where the items are I want to burn to disk - at the top of the window you will see -Organize, Views, Explore --- Burn -- I click on a file I want to send to disk to high light it then click "Burn" and the CD drawer opens - put in your disk and follow instructions. Easiest to just choose a file you want to send to disk - then place cursor on top of it and "Right Click" - then list displays - choose "Send To" then choose your CD/DVD drive - mine happens to be DVD RW Drive (E) - then drawer will open - insert your disk and follow instructions - then window will open and you will see the file you just sent to disk - then if you want to add more files just copy and paste files to this window or do same as above - when you have finished all the files you want to put on this disk then close all windows and push the button on the CD/DVD drawer to remove the disk - this will finish the process and the drawer will pop open! All done! The drawer will be hesitant to open - this is allowing the burning process to finish - so don't let the delay worry you - you will get a message to please wait while the disk is being prepared to use on other computers. Drawer will open when finished and you are all done.
Boy, that sounds easy! I have printed out your instructions, and we'll see how she does. Thank you.
So, you are burning a disc on XP for someone with Vista to use - right? If so, you should be able to do it by the software that comes up when you pop it in. Vista has a 32 bit and a 64 bit version but the 64 bit version has a "compatible" mode for 32 bit files so it should work fine (assuming this is not some elaborate program and is files, etc.). Hope this helps.
No, she has not made a cd yet, and I still have XP, so was looking for some directions for Vista but thanks for answering.
