We are fine here, although only because the rain stopped falling. At the levels they were predicting, the water would have been in our house. Luckily they never reached that height. We are in Westlake though, one of the hardest hit suburbs and the gated community across the road has about 80% of the houses flooded. The piles of household goods across the road is just heart rending :((
Hi from Hervey Bay. Okay here but food supplies at supermarkets very low in commodities such as bread, milk, eggs, fresh fruit & vegies etc and apparently petrol supplies also low, but NOTHING compared with the heartbreaking tragedies being experienced by many many other towns & cities in Queensland. I think about 80% of Qld declared flood disaster areas. Of course our heartfelt prayers go out to all the victims of this catastrophic disaster.
My brother is also in Hervey Bay, he says that they are fine there. I am so thankful my family is safe.
Hi Alice, leaving in the morning for higher ground as the creek behind me is rising rapidly...will be going to Redcliffe as they are higher and no rivers there...good thing you are thinking of moving to there... Hugs Sally PS stay safe...
wish I was already there, then you could stay with me. God bless and lots and lots of hugs.
Alice.
I am bringing this back to the top because the floods are still devastating our amazing state.
In 2005 there was flooding in this area, but it seems we are still safe this time. It has been raining, but not as heavy as it was yesterday. It is so sad to see the news...
Cuties in Queensland, keep safe. Love and big hugs,Yoriko
too emotional to put in words, my well beeing wishes go out to center in queensland.
Thank you Alice for making the rest of the world of Cuties aware of what is going on. I saw some terrible footage of raging rivers on the news last night. My thoughts go out to all the families who have suffered.
Hugs to all in Queensland. Sarah.
This is part of my back yard yesterday.Sandra from Toowoomba
Gosh, Sandra I hope it doesn't come up any higher. I've seen pictures of people having their bed built up on stacks of bricks etc. etc. I do hope you have all your things up high and dry. Love Chris
It did not come much higher.Lucky for me my rain water tank outlet was fixed (last weekend)allowing the exrta water to go down the outlet pipes otherwise I think it would had come into the house.I ok thanks Yoriko--Lv sandra
Sandra, I can't tell you how pleased I am that you are safe. this is just unbelievable. I think I have got the tears under control and back they come, perhaps I should turn off the news. Stay dry and keep in touch.
Wow! sandra glad you are ok.. think I will be evacuated tomorrow 12th... just moving to higher ground with my machines.
Hi from Toowoomba.Another body has been found.Know 9 have lost there life.Brisbane and Ipswich are beginning to floodGoing to be worst than the 1974 flood ,which I remember as I was living in Ipswich. All take care Lv Sandra
I thought you were at Murrumba downs... still not much better than Toowoomba... Hugs sally

Tell all to be safe at 4am tomorrow
nothing is worth dying for
that is the time that has everone in the know worried
Pauline I think your girls are safe up there now as it has stopped raining
its brisbane and suburbs that is a big problem in the morning
I cannot believe the devastation of the floods in Toowoomba - it is just heartbreaking. To see large vans and all sorts of cars just swept along in the raging river like toys was amazing to say the least. All those lives lost is unbearable to think of and so many missing people. I hope once the water subsides our major infrastructure can be started. Roads, electricity, clean water, etc. etc. It's just like the heavens opened up and poured down on Queensland.
Of course sickness now is the worry - raw sewage, all sorts of animals dead - snakes are everywhere too. I hope you all have access to clean water too.
I hope all our Cuties are bearing up under this enormous deluge. Love, prayers and my thoughts are with you all Chris

Hi - to all the Queenslanders, did not know there were so many of us. I am in the Southern Bayside and have no flooding here but send my best wishes to all those who have been affected.
My prayers go out to all who are in trouble due to the weather conditions. I shall keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. May God's Blessings keep you safe.
Cindy B.
For Cutes in the rest of the world. Toowoomba is on a mountain, they described last nights event as an inland tsunami. unbelievable!
Alice, it is just awful I for one never though toowoomba could flood...shocking pictures on the news...I am fine at the moment too hope it lets up soon they are likening it to the floods of 1974..I did not live here then. so have no idea what is too come.. thoughts and prayers to all...Hugs Sally
I heard from one on an Aussie sewing list saying similar -that it was like a tsunami -being on a mountain range you'd never think you might be affected by floodwaters. Everyone seems to be having their turn at disasters.Hope you all get through this okay.
My prayers go out to each ad everyone effect by the rain and flooding which seems to to expanding. Keep us updated if at all possible. God bless you all.
I live in Toowoomba. On high ground and okay. Several lives lost in floods yesterday.
Annie I just can't believe it. who would have thought toowoomba would flood. I am pleased you are ok.
My prayers are with all the Queensland CUTE family and anyone else in the flood area. Hope they all check in soon. *4U
I live in st lawrence which is halfway between rockhampton and mackay we have been lucky. We have had that much rain everything is mildewed but at least we are dry.
Im in far north queesland we are dry here.
I guess a bit of rain would be okay for you but not as much as some have had. Hope it stays reasonable for you.
Alice so glad you and Sandra are ok. Sally will be flooded in i expect. Kezza2sew(kerry) will be getting a bit wet and unable to leave town. 2 of my 3 girls are fine. I has sandbaged and the other is on a hill but mabey flooded in. The 3rd and eldest i cannot get onto. Am worried but all i can do is keep trying to call her. Pray all are safe and well in Qld. I am sad of heart . 1 side of Australia is in MASSIVE floods and the other side Perth is in heatwave with Bushfires. Surely we are a land of flooding rains and drought, Take care Please
My prayers are with you Aussies. Checkin with us when you are able to do so. God Bless you.
Pauline, I am ok at the moment creek has not yet broken its banks hope it does not... Hugs Sally
Pauline, I could not get hold of my daughter in Ipswich this morning. turns out she is fine and was oblivious to what was going on. i hope you hear from your daughter soon.
Alice
No wonder you have a migraine my dear friend!!!
All my prayers are for our Queensland neighbours, it is a devastating time up there right now and they will need lots of financial aid.
It a damn disgrace that our government has only seen fit to give them a lousy ONE million dollars.
hugs n love, me
I heard this morning that Centrelink has already made payments of 17 million so I think the 1 million was before the floods escalated.
Hi Pauline Sure hope you daughter is safely in an evacuation centre if there was any danger. Love Viv
