My second (ever) machine embroidery design: Redwork Monogram on a towelling bathrobe. After my first attempt (FSL Bookmark) was a disaster i am really glad i tried something easier and i happy with this one. I've decided i don't like the film type solvy, or at least my machine didn't... LOL! Meganne

Hi Meganne..Well done..keep on keeping on you will find the stuff that is best for you and your machine as you go...I am not keen on the film type solvy either ..I recently found the woven solvy and it works really well especially for freestanding lace... I started doing lace bookmarks with a layer of net the same colour as the thread to make them stronger but don't need to with the woven stuff..Keep stitching..Dianne

Thanks Dianne, Yes I have bought some of the woven soluble stabiliser thanks to the recommendation of a friend on another group and i've just completed a "successful" FSL bookmark. I really like the woven kind, don't think i'll ever use the film type again. Bouquets to you, cheers, Meganne
