Good morning ladies!! Tell me about the prewound bobbins. Do they have more on them than the ones you do yourself??

Yes! And they are more 'balanced' in the way they are wound as well. These are one of the best and yet least expensive 'improvements' I have found for my sewing projects. I have had luck with both paper and plastic ones tho you can rewind the plastic ones! So you can wind other colors that may not be available in the pre-wound bobbins.

Yes I like them but be sure not to get the paper sided ones. they don''t work well for me. I get the plastic ones. A flower for you.

Here I go being helpful again..I think this info is more reliable than my last statement. I buy 60wt. bobbin thread 5000M for $3.99 on the Thread Art site.. It is good thread and can wind a lot o bobbins.

The prewound bobbins do have more. I like the magnetic ones. Far less problems than the cardboard.

Most likely, the prewound bobbins will have more thread on them than what you can do yourself. The reasons for this are that they use a thinner thread (usually about 60 wt.) and they can wind them tighter than your machine is capable of. If the bobbins are not wound tighter than what you can do, it probably means that the thread is of inferior quality and would break under the higher tension (so they loosen it up to prevent winding problems, but it doesn't do anything to help you when you are sewing with the stupid things. I've used some of this kind. =[ Can you tell?)

I think that you got your answer, but I was told they had more on them. I know that the ones I purchase last longer than the ones I have to wind.

Mine do, because they use a smaller (60wt) thread which is perfect for bobbins.I buy white and off white and have never had any problem with them. ;)

I have found that they do have more on them... And, they are relatively inexpensive. I recommend them, unless you are doing an in the hoop project that requires the same color bobbin thread.
