I've used it on a friend's laptop and it is fasssssst. Mind you its a new computer, so windows is cleanly installed - unlike my ole faithful P3 desktop XP PC with about 2 billion added on programs tweaks and changes lol. He's a little slower to boot (mine that is) but he still gets daily hugs from me. Sadly he's not compatible with win7 .. boo hoo. (and yes, my puter is a he coz I am a she lol.) xXx
I like the restore feature. When there is a problem you can restore to a date prior to the problem with no difficulity. Suzanne
I have been using Windows 7 on my laptop for a year now My son-in-law set it up for me. Until I read this post I had no idea there was such a thing as the sticky notes. It was not on my start menu and I had to search for the feature. While I was searching for that I found a currency converter that I added to the desktop. I found that under desktop gadgets. There may be some others that would be interested in that feature as well. Thank you so much for sharing the info about the sticky notes. Hugs, Mary
I had to go to acessories to get my sticky note. It works great. Where is the snipping tool?
Speedy backup, plain structures, security.
Love it.
Sticky notes- I had this feature already on my IMac, 12 years ago. Long time for an innovation hehehe.
Thanks Sue, I have put this feature up on my Vista laptop plus added £ to $ conversion
I have those features with vista on my 2 yr old laptop-it's in the sidebar feature
I just bought a new laptop with windows 7..and I have to say I love it all! I thought this would be my back-up computer...but I don't think so, as I haven't put it down since I bought it! I like those post it notes, too!
Got a new laptop with Windows 7 but haven't really fooled with it as I always find myself at the old desk top.
I have windows 7 but don't use many of the features. I do find it easy to use. I like the way it list the pathway of where you have been, makes it visual and easy to go back to areas you have been with just one click. I'm glad you mentioned the sticky notes and cropping. I will have to try those out. I don't even think my husband noticed those and he is pretty computer savy. I have a clock, calendar, and weather bug on my desktop screen that I think is nice. I believe that was available for the Vista version also. However, it may have been something my husband put on. My desk top computer didn't have any of that for Windows XP.
I have it but haven't worked with it that much. Cropping pictures sounds good. Where is it? Sticky notes??? I guess i an way behind in learning
Click on "start" - sticky notes is the top of the list. Click on it and a yellow sticky note appears on your screen. Typr something on it. It will stay on your desktop until you delete it - even if you switch off! Snipping tool is next in the list.
NOTHING,don't have it...may want it, it sounds good :) ...FIESTA ;D *2U
Great idea Sue! Congratulations by the initiative! They are all charming.
