Letvia, I have quilted for many years ( I won't give the decades! hahah) I learned from a quilter in my community who gave a class at the local community college, then I went to quilt stores near and took classes there and the best class I took was quilting 101 and was told to Purchase "Quilter's Complete Guide" by Marianne Fons and Liz Porter and have never had a question that this book did not answer. It is revised and updated and still for sale. go to
http://www.fonsandporter.com/aspx... to get some ideas and look around. ;)
Letvia, those quilt shows on PBS & DIY are great! I started with Eleanor Burns "Log Cabin Quilt in a Day". I never quilted anything before, started with a King sized quilt for my brother & his wife. The strip quilts are easy, but don't believe that "in a day" part! I don't know whose "day" they were talking about, but mine have only 24 hours, & that quilt was certainly not done, hee hee hee. You are so funny, jajaja. Thank you. I will check my TV Guide to know when the program is aired on
I am a self-taught quilter, although my mother did, but I didn't live close, but I started with a book from JoAnns (teach yourself to quilt) It helped alot and then I watched all the quilt shows I could find. Good Luck
If you can get any shows on your cable, or satellite, Simply Quilts and other shows on the DIY network are extremely helpful. Another one that may come on your PBS would be Quilt in a Day. I am a quilter, I love these shows, and that is how I learned.

I have quilted either. I would love to learn, especially since so many of these designs would be appropriate for quilts. Although, I'm afraid I will become addicted. How many addictions can one have at the same time?
That is true, until now, I am addict to embroider, to sew, to crochet and to Cute Embroidery. Flower
