this is made of 6 inch pieced and quilted squares joined by the quilt as u go technique. i made it start to finish this past weekend. it is hanging over an unused door now in my sewing area, i love how it turned out! i had on line help from a real nice lady i met at a quilt show, now she is my email friend!

Wow, you made this in a weekend !!!!!!! I don't think I could achieve it in a year ,LOL.Abolutely love it.I would have given you more flowers but it only lets me give one.It really is a truly wonderful piece of art.

I love how your quilt turned out! I sooo want to try doing the quilt as you go but I really don't get the sashing/joining them together part! Maybe one day it will sink in how to do it...lol.

ok I went & checked it out & I get most of it, but can you tell me one thing? When you add the sashing on both sides ( in your pic it would be the black) & then you turn it over how do you join the next block? Do you do one side on the machine & the other by hand or fancy stitches?

you finish 1 block trim it then add the front (2 inch folded and pressed in half) and the back sash, 1 1/4", both at the same time. to connect, you sew the back to the next square, then fold the front sash over and sew it down. clear as mud, huh? check out video-

Great job, I like the white strip in the center of the block, it makes it almost 3 dimensional if you concentrate on the black lines.
