Congrats on a job well done, my sister and I have been going to WW since we came down to Florida, not sure about this new program,we are both lifetime... I lost 1.6 last week but gained .4 this week but think perhaps the salt in some of the food may be too much now that I am also taking meds for BP..we are walking 1/2 hour each day...will see how it goes this week...you keep on doing what you are doing sounds like it is working beautifully...hugs x0x0x0 and *4U..
Well done! It is a struggle, but Mike and I found it easy to lose weight together. I'd always been unsuccessful on my own. We managed to lose about 2 stone each (thats 28lb) and have kept it off by controlling prtion size. The dog makes sure we exercise!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I may have a tool to help you lose more weight.....easily & safely.
IT WORKS!!!
It's diabetes friendly and guaranteed!
That is FANTASTIC!!!! Good for you!! Keep up the good work. It's hard but you will meet your goal.
You are 11 lbs better than me. I have just started to recognize the importance of not just weight but mobility. And I am getting no younger. So, I signed up for the gym last week. So far, I've only used the treadmill, but looking to do more. And I have only lost in my bust...not in the gut. :---o I certainly don't have much to lose in the cups if you know what I mean. :)
keep it up I have lost about 100 lbs in the last 4 years. walk around the house carring 2 soup can the weigh will help with toning

Keep up the great work, small steps not leaps get the job done. I have just started weight watchers and am proud of my first 2 lbs. Hugs Lisa
Yeah!!! Lisa, After seeing others on here that are also trying to loose weight. I'm heading to YOU Embroidery and start a Cheer group for those of us that are taking off the lbs/kg...
wow: great job!!you may be proud and we are proud of you too!
Thanks Gerry... I'm hyped to lose more now with all your encouraging words. ;) Hugs, Terre
Good one, I too am losing weight, this time with weight watchers, if every thing goes alright tonite at weigh in I might have lost almost 17lbs, its very empowering to see it come off slowly. Keep up the good work and let me know how you go, cheers Ruth
Thanks Ruth. I wish you the best too. I thought of WW, but decided to do it without help except what the dr. recommended.
Congratulations Terre. This is great. I lost 15 lbs before Christmas. Have put 3 back on. Just today I started to get this plus more off. Have a long way to go. Want to try to lose up to 50 lbs by June. If I really try I think I can. Mildred
hehehe....Mildred.... The little engine that could...LOL Only in my case it's the BIG engine.LOL Keep in touch with how much you lose. It will encourage others I think that are trying too. :)Maybe I'll start a group at YOU embroidery for weight lose so others can weigh-in and cheer other on... :)
Congratulations Terre!!! You are doing great on your own. Loosing weight slowly is the way to go!
I need to loose some. A few years ago I had very good results with Richard Simmons diet. I lost 22 LBS. in 6 weeks. I should psyche myself to start. I'm just too lazy to dance.HEHEHE
Keep up the good work. You are doing great.
Happy Loosing (weight)
Sukiray
hehehe Sukiray... I WISH I could dance.... But with these knees I do good to walk... LOL...Thanks for encouragement
Terre, congratulations! You are an inspiration! I love cooking and eating, but I should start a diet! Maybe this will change my mind, and go ahead with a diet :)
Love and blessings, Yoriko
Good to see you Yoriko.... Thanks much. I had a huge medical motivation that got me started. :) Love and Hugs, Terre
Go girl! I need to get back on my diet! Proud of you!
excellent Terre i will pray for you if to promise to do the same for me,Got weighed tonight & lost 2.5 poubnds now only17.5 to go LOlcarolyn
Yippeee! Carolyn that is GREAT!!! We can do this together. I know you can do it. At least you have 17.5 to go, I still have 90... ugh... Keep us informed. It's encouraging...Hugs, Terre
You go Girl!!! I try to walk at night and when some of the younger people run by I ask them to do a lap for me!! LOL Hehehe!
Hugs Dawn
hehehe... That would be me too. I used to be a runner which helped keep weight off I'm sure, not that I needed it off back then. But now I do well just to walk. Thanks much!
Congratulations!! I believe the best exercise you can do is to walk. I will not say a wish you luck. I wish you determination.
Sorry just read you had knee surgeries. That would make walking very hard. Do you have a pool.
I can walk some, just not as fast as others. LOL...Yes during the summer we use the pool.
Congratulations! I need to lose at least 30 lbs. so badly; I am tired of the inner tube hanging at my midriff! So, I have got to get moving and cut portions!
I applaud you! I can only imagine the difficulty and pain in moving with the knee surgeries! That in itself would be a great motivation for me, as I am sure it has
for you! Keep it up! You will get there!
Angel
Thank you Angel, It's coming off and slowly. I have good days and bad days, but I try to stay upbeat. Sometimes looking back is enough to get you motivated. Hugs, Terre
That should give you more energy to keep up with your newest grandchild. Stay positive about your goal and you will reach it.
thanks Anita, I haven't seen the new great-grand yet. Maybe they will come and visit soon. :)
Well done, an inspiration to us all. Oh if only..... I walk every night with my DH and am very careful what i eat BUT So i take my hat off to you. Keep it up and we will have a supermodel in our midst :))
Pauline, This 'ol girls modeling days are LONG gone hehehe.... Even if I could get back to my modeling weight when I was 18 and 19 yrs old, there would be so much flabby skin hanging. hehehe... Not a pretty picture. ROFL....
Good for you Terre, 11 lbs since Thanksgiving is really good. it took me 6 months to lose 7 kg which is a bit over 15 lbs so you are doing really well.
Alice.
Thanks Alice. I kept hanging with the 7 to 8 lbs and I couldn't get more, then all of a sudden it started coming off again. I think your body's metabolism has to adjust.
Congrats to you!!! That is an acomplishment! I am sure with determination and help from God, You can do what you want! I am happy for you! Hugs, Judy
Thank you Judy. Pray always helps. Not just for blessing the food. hehehe. But for guidance too in how much to eat. Sometimes I have one main meal, but eat fruit and veggies during the day to keep my energy up.
Good going Terre and Yeah to no meds! Take one day at a time and do not get discouraged if you fall off your plan, just pick yourself back up and continue on. I lost 56lbs by doing WW's and the one thing I learned and preach to others is "Stay Positive" and it sounds like you are! Congrats! Now go buy yourself something pretty! Carol
Thank you Carol.... 56lbs is GREAT!!! And trying to be positive isn't always easy, but I try and have lots of help here with my CUTE family. :) Hugs, Terre
Yeah Terre! It's tough but keep at it. I need to lose a bunch, have done it before but the older I get the harder it is.
Yes, Deb, I find this to be so true. I don't have the energy I used to have which makes it harder to make myself move more. LOL
Have to comment ... you go girl!!! And also to all the others, keep it up. When I read all the words of encouragement listed here, it just shows how we all are concerned about each other. Nothing lifts you up more than knowing others care. Those who took the time to comment ... well, that is saying a lot about them and their character. And a *4 all. GG
Thank you so much GG. You are right. We have a wonderful group of Cute Family here. Even if they aren't on the same program, they are still encouraging. Thanks everyone!
Wonderfull, I am so proud of you. Keep it going. I need to lose at least 25 kilo's, and am struggling, but will have to lose some in a hurry now, as my knee is so sore. Have to have a knee replacement op on my right knee.
Wish me luck please. You are a inspiration for me.
Hugs and God bless.
Marietta
Marietta, Thanks you, I totally understand about the knee replacement, and if you can get just a little bit off, it makes all the difference in the world. 25K's looks like a lot, but just do what I do take it one meal at a time. I do snack with raw veggies and fresh fruit between meals so this keeps me from over eating when I sit down to eat.
Good for you.I have been on WT.Watchers 11/2 weeks and have lost 3lbs. so I think I will stick to it.Dotti's weight lose has been a good help too.I have a long way to go.You keep it up .
This is great. I considered Wt. Watchers as they have a special going. But I decided to try first on my own with the determination to take the wt. off. So far so good. :)
Congratulations, that is quite a bit in only 2 months! Remember now, we are watching you.;)
Congrats-that is the best way to do it-a little at a time. It's a very hard thing to do, so WAY TO GO!!!!!!
Congratulations. You have done well. Have you taken a picture of yourself, before you lost the weight. Put it some were in the kitchen, this will motivate you , not to eat if it is not meal times. Hugs Yvonne
Right now, I don't look any different, but a few inches are gone on the hips. Not enough to really see, but weighing my self each morning keeps me motivated. :)
Congratulations, remember the weight you have gained are on good terms with u'r body, they're good friends by this time, so u are doing great seeiing that u have to fight the weight and u'r body!!! I have some "surplus" around the waist and it is difficult to get rid of it. Hugs
Thanks, so true. If I could get on floor to exercise, it might go a little quicker, but since I can't do that or anything that puts weight on my back or knees, is not going to happen.LOL
Congratulations!!!! I know what a struggle it is to lose. I can fight my way down 2 or 3 pounds in a month and gain them back in a day. Give yourself a huge pat on the back!!
Thanks Frannie. You have to be careful that way. I think one of the keys is to drink LOTS of water, which I like so it isn't a big deal to me.
Well done!
I really need to try to loose some weight as well. Any good tips?
Exercising is difficult as I have severe arthritis in knee, I do swim sometimes.
Lique, I've had 7 knee surgeries includes 2 knee replacements, so mine is mainly small portions of food and fruit or raw veggies between. The only exercise I get is I go to one of the stores and walk around there for about 30 minutes with out stopping. Hard to do. hehehe
Congratulations...wow I think you are super .You inspire me
I'm so happy for you and very proud. Those first pounds are so hard to move. Well done and keep it up.
AlmaG.
Thank you Alma! You are so right. I thought I'd never see the 10 lbs and then I check this one and another pound got lost somewhere, but I'm not looking for it. hehehe.
FANTASTIC!! Congratulations!! I know how hard it is to take off those extra pounds. I finally lost the 27 lbs. I gained while on Prednisone, and it took me about 4-5 mos. Wt.Watchers was the answer for me, so I really admire your determination to do this on your own. Keep up the good work and you'll see how terrific you'll look by summer.
Marion in KY
Prednisone is the worst! I have severe asthma and they keep putting me on it and I keep gaining! I did Weight Watchers twice and lost but then it comes back.
The thing that annoys me about prednisone is that I get a long hair on my chin, Or it could just be the age I am, but it always comes when I am on prednisone.
hehehe. Alice that is so funny, it sort of reminded me of Nanny McPhee. LOL...
Marion and Deb.. I know how hard it is to be on Prednisone. I think that is what put some of the wt. on me recently.
Alice,
My doctor told me years ago that the occasional hair or two I found on my chin/neck area was just one of the signs
of decreased level of hormones in my body and menopause. I am way past that stage of life now, and fortunately, did not suffer from any bad symptoms, as I have heard many women suffer both mentally and physically during that time. The prednisone is a great anti-inflammatory medicine (steroid) that really helps ones who have severe respiratory problems. Weight gain is bad, but not being able to breathe is worst.
Angel
Congrats! It is always a struggle. Suzanne
Thank you Suzanne. It is quite a struggle. And also takes a while to learn to eat right.
Good for you! And to do it during the "food stuffed" holiday time makes it even more amazing. Keep up the good work.
It just shows what can be done if you have the determination. I will say there were a few times I rewarded myself with something special, but went right back to my regiment.
Of course - yeah for you. Taking the weight off more slowly tends to keep it off longer - or so my doctor has told me. How some can lose 5-10 pounds a week surprises me. But, I am not one to starve myself. Just remember to bulk up your diet with veggies and fruits - that sure helps. I try to figure out how I can get more into my diet, but then I eat a lot of fresh veggies anyway. LOL
You are right. I have found that if I get hungry, just grab a few raw baby carrots and they keep the hunger away. Good fillers.
Great Job!....You should be very proud of yourself for doing this and more so for not taking any meds (they can be more harmful than good). Keep it up Terre, you'll get there!!!!
Thank you Lu. I thought about weight watchers, but I think I can do this without them as long as I have a support system here at home and my CUTIE family. LOL...
Congratulations Terre! It is good to lift the self-esteem.
It remind that: " WANT it is CAN..." Success!!!!
You are right Dil. My dad always said "can't never could til she tried" LOL...and you know Dad's are ALWAYS right. (at least my dad is.) hehehe
That is something to be proud of....congratulations.
YAY for you Terre!! Isn't it a great feeling? What are you doing, just cutting down and out some stuff that you normally eat? I found that if I would just stop buying all the yummy junk(cookies, chips, snack foods) and stop the nite time munching-sure does help. I finally took off the extra baggage I packed on last winter(15lbs)-I don't exercise or diet either- It's so nice to go in the closet and be able to pick out any pr of pants and know I won't have to steam stretch and squeeze into them. Keep up the good work! Kudos to you!!
thanks Linda, yep, that is what I'm doing. I don't eat a lot of snacks and sweets, I just eat a lot of FOOD in general and large amounts of it. hehehe.... But it does make a huge difference to cut down your normal eating.
Wonderful ! That is hard work ! Most commendable !<br />God Bless you in your future efforts .If I could give you a flower per pound I would !
Keep up the good work Terre. They say that if you take the weight off slow it's better for you and you're more likely to keep it off. Reva
Reva, I hope this is true. Because it is frustrating that you don't see large pounds coming off quick enough. LOL...
Congratulations!!! What is your secret to weightloss? I need to know!!! Hugs, Laura*
hehehe. Laura, I cut out my cokes/pepsi, and cut down on my portions. I don't eat much in the way from fried foods, but if I do, just eat minimum.
Great job. I envy you, I know I need to lose some too but can't seem to get motivated. And like you I don't want to take any meds and can't afford those foot systems. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Pam. I have to loose 100 lbs. So it is going to take some time. It's supposed to get my cholestrol down, however, I have an under active thyroid, which doesn't help my wt. lose. :)
yeppie.......... good for you T
By summer you'll be in the 2 piece :)
Hugs Lee
Not likely. hehehe...Of course I'd fit right in with the other kids who let it all hang out. ROFL
